If you are looking for a authentic morning and or night market the Phitsanulok Train Station Market (Dalot Rot Fi) is a fascinating place to explore. It offers many cheap and delicious foods and the opportunity to experience the day in the life of most Thais not affected by hordes of foreigners and mass tourism.
Phitsanulok city itself is an interesting city to spend a few days relaxing, with numerous hotels within walking distance of the train station. Songthaew's (Baht Buses) travel throughout the city.

And that is one of the many reasons I have visited locations like this over the many years in Southeast Asia. Very surreal even with all the traffic there is a sense of peace. What I call beautiful chaos. Although often the only foreigner around for miles I never felt in danger with the locals. If anything I often feel comforted to be around them.

Morning market in other provinces that seems to be chaotic But it seems quieter than it should be.

The best Thai food is in the market area of Phitsanulok and there is also a night market at the same location. Have been visiting there for many years.
