  • Xiaomi has a new prototype AR smart glasses that are truly wireless, named the Xiaomi Wireless AR Smart Glass Explorer Edition. #AR #MWC2023
    From Xiaomi:
Xiaomi Wireless AR Smart Glass Discovery Edition is designed with individual experience in mind. Instead of relying on a wired connection to a host computing device, this device is designed at just 126g and adopts Xiaomi-developed high-speed interconnection buses to achieve high-speed data connection from smartphone to AR glasses. Built on Snapdragon® XR2 Gen 1 Platform and featuring Xiaomi's proprietary low-latency communication link, this Snapdragon SpacesTM XR Developer Platform-supported glasses offer a wireless connection with latency as low as 50ms, which is comparable to wired solutions.
The smart glasses feature a lightweight design that incorporates a range of lightweight materials such as magnesium-lithium alloy, carbon fiber parts, and a self-developed silicon- oxygen anode battery.

Finally an actual wireless AR glasses ❤️ thank you for the video 👍
I got so many questions 😆
-are the glasses standalone or do they need a phone to operate?? If so, how small/big is the compatibly list?
-will this be for Android phones only, or do they have plans for iphones and PCs too??
-I don't believe the fov was mentioned anywhere.
-If they are using XR2 chip, will they be compatible with Snapdragon Spaces software??
-Can you charge it while you use it????
    -Will it be OpenXR compatible?
    -Will it be WebXR compatible??
-Does it come with AR apps, like web browser, video player, image gallery, etc...??
-will they're be a devkit at some point?
-any ETA when ppl can get their hands on these??

    • @Mr.FarePlay
      @Mr.FarePlay ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@thierryfautier5780 well technically it stated that it works with Snapdragon Spaces compatible phones. The only other phone I know that has that is the motorola edge+ that comes bundled with the ThinkReality A3 devkit. And Xiaomi now has their new line up to be compatible too 👍
Hopefully more phones would join in the future 😉

    Downlighters
    LED Strips
Front door with built in video camera and fingerprint smart lock
    Smart toilet
    Bathroom heater and air extractor
    Robo vac and mop
    Water tower
    Kitchen light and fan
    Web cam

    Various smart sockets
    Heated and cooled matress

I can imagine this is gonna cost a fortune. Electrochromic glass, wireless, magnesium and carbon fibre. These are not cheap materials. The Nreal and TCL glasses are already around $400. Won't be surprised if this is about $700 or more. Still I do wish for these to be available as a consumer products. Both local and globally. Would be an awesome device for OTG entertainment. If they want extend battery life, maybe a good power pack around the back like goggles would do the trick. Hopefully it can mature into full blown products for us to play with.

I mean, some people go out and buy $1000 phones every year. I could see a device like this being very worthwhile. It's using a smartphone for all its processing, so longevity through forward compatibility until we see the next must-have features integrated into a future pair. They could probably back track and find cheaper materials and make it wired, but keep the same fundamental experience, but slightly cheaper, while still offer something like this for those who want the bleeding edge. I'd say the elctrochromatic glass and the sensors need to stay for both tho.

These glasses are huge! Deciding between bulky wireless glasses and tiny light wired ones I’d pick wired. And the oldschool drone pilot hack - on wired glasses you can put a battery in your pocket and get huge screen on time. While the technology of batteries is not there yet, its okey to roll with wired glasses.
