Thank you, John. This hit home. I compare myself to others. I envy others. I live for their approval as if their validation could fill my emptiness. I get caught up in my work, thinking that if I do it well enough, long enough, or perfectly enough, and if enough people like it, I may finally find what my soul is searching for. But deep down, I know that no effort or approval will ever satisfy that longing. It is a tiring cycle, and I see how it keeps me from fully surrendering to the care of God, the only one who can truly meet that need within me.
Encouraging message. "Even if you can't joyfully surrender your will to God out of love for Him, at least stop resisting." Amen. That's about where I am now. I hope, I try, I fail, but when I fail, I don't despair or complain (i.e., I stop resisting), I continue to hope and continue to try. One day it's going to kick in, one day I will be set free. I continue to believe that even after all these years of failure.
Thank you. I love that Idea of putting my WILL in neutral! I used to drive an old VW that I could push with one foot out of the door when it was in neutral to start it. Put it in neutral going downhill to save gas, it would go a long way. A great car for a working college student. I now realized I was putting many things in neutral these days to let go of life's drama and worry.... great message for me today. I thought I might be getting apathetic, but I now think I'm just learning to let go where I need too. THANK GOD!
We are grateful for your Rose! Thanks for painting a great applicable picture of "neutral"! (For those who drive a manual transmission or remember when....) We appreciate you sharing with our Become New family......have a blessed day Bucky
good morning ☀️ YAS, let go…I thank God for I am lazy, don’t really like callouses, and so taking advantage of His easy yoke appeals to me. Saying “Uncle” surrendering to God equals peace. Praise the Lord for I have received His blessings when I remember to let go…
Susan, resisting and Humbly receiving God's grace and peace is a beautiful act of surrender - thank you for sharing your journey. Keep coming back Bucky
Hi John and Tim with the rest of the team members. ...I enjoyed this discourse and the analogy was extremely apt... Loved it....I wish the weather here in UK should grudgingly surrender...So far the resistance is winning the conversion... Still, Battling on ...Not giving in to temptation... This is so topical....I can resist most things , but not temptation... 🙂🙏✍💅
Great story and lesson John. God is so much waiting for us to surrender to Him and our life beatings become much less painful. Wonderful series. Oh . . and by the way, I think we all know that a bully saying those words as a result of someone bloodying their nose is not a conversion. Simply another way to cry uncle. Similarly if we use forceful and damming techniques to share the gospel, I doubt anyone truly comes to Christ as a result. If that bully ever did turn his life over to Jesus it was not likely that day. ;)
Without repentance there is no remission, Christ did all the work , if you believe in him you will follow him and he will renew your mind not you yourself except through submission to his will and be thankful it's that easy, it's not a matter of choice, but do I believe or not . I believe he chose me to believe , thank you Jesus.
