I used to bartend at Big Nose Kate's Saloon in Tombstone, AZ. A guy who would prospect used to come in from time to time. He told me he had been up there and in searching found no paintings but some empty plastic tubes...as if someone had already found them. That was back in 2000. I don't know if he was being truthful but...he would come in with old coins he would find in the desert and things like a gold tooth he found in a skull. Stuff like that.

Nobody knows for sure, it is possible somebody found them and never revealed it but I believe they are still out there.

So he had a bunch of 1-inch pvc conduits he had cut to length to hold the paintings and he slid them into 1 or more small holes in a rock face somewhere.

As with everything, the government found them when they tore down the corrals. Why do you thing they tore them down? To retain water for what? The deer have plenty of watering holes out there.

According to the Executive Director of the DeGrazia Foundation, in a lengthy email to me he states in part: (Quote) : "Dear Charlie, The one thing I can tell you is that DeGrazia only had one burning..only one!! At that time, he burned 100 paintings..valued at 1.5 million. He made many many trips to the superstitions and had built a gallery up there. I don’t believe anything has ever been found, and I don’t believe anything ever will be found."
