Changing My Old Outlet to USB

- Upgrading my out of date outlet to a newer, USB 3 port outlet. Type C & Type A Ports. Recommend matching the outlet with the size of the breaker it's on if you plan on purchasing and installing this outlet in your home.

Just a tip I learned on another TH-cam video. Instead of using the Phillips bit on your screwdriver, you'll get more torque (and a tighter screw connection) using the ECX bit that comes with your electrician's screwdriver. (Klein calls the ECX bits something else. "Combination bit" I think.)
Keep in mind the amperage you're buying. I installed one years ago and it took way too long to charge my phone. Chargers and phones just changed again. Android I just bought will only charge off a super charger.
Yup 👍 this one had 3.3 and 2.7amps - Charged my iPhone 12 with it in an hour no problem. I know the charging technology of the box can’t be completely duplicated, it works

that moment when one is pushing the wires hard into the box always freaks me out. always wonder what will be broken, bent, cracked etc... not sure. !
Ya it's a bit sketchy especially in 20+ year old high rises. I've learned to always keep the power off until everything is back in the box :)
Please make sure to finish it up with electric tape around ur terminal screws. Just incase it makes contact to the metal. 😅

This outlet has 3 wires but I've seen a video with 5. How do i know which one to use

These things are not worth installing. Use the charger that came with your phone, they work far better.
