A very talented, elegant, chic, *refined* and a deep wise person. I love it when people look into things deeper than just being plainly shallow. Love the style, the all black outfits. The voice and the way you choose your words shows how well educated and experienced you are. The way you always give companies love at the end of your videos, so professional. They way you express and find many things that we might ignore interesting. I dont care if you are a vampire or a human or a time traveler. Finally someone of the very few who has common sense and whom I will for sure enjoy watching.

I never really understand when people say this. I don't mean to disparage John in any way, but his grammar is far from perfect. Instances like his usage of 'phenomena' to describe a single person come to mind - It should be phenomenon. Again, this really isn't me bashing John as he's certainly very intelligent, but to a linguistics student, it's just very easy to notice his misuse of certain words and structures.

I have dark skin and I love coming to watch John's videos. I have a skin care channel and hardly wear makeup at all BUT I still come and watch John's videos. He has an amazing voice and he has a good heart.

How did you learn your wide range of vocabulary? Sometiems I feel like I need to watch your videos with a dictionary! But, it DOES force me to learn new words!
He could have learned vocab from reading books with a higher vocab and using the context clues, looking through dictionary's, or he could have gone to one of those schools that force it on him
I’m an English teacher. A few tips if you are truly interested in improving your vocabulary.
- Read a variety of books. The classics such as Shakespeare, Dickens, Austen, Cervantes, Twain, etc. are a good start.
- I highly encourage learning basic Greek and Roman mythology. Many vocabulary words come from these stories.
-Learn the basic stories of the Old and New Testaments. Like mythology, the names and stories are often alluded to in literature.
- Get a word a day calendar and try to use the word in conversation of writing
- Get a workbook of Greek and Latin roots. Many words in English are based on these roots. For example bi is Greek for two cycle is Greek for wheel. Bicycle is two wheels. Dis is Latin for bad or against. Disagree then means to be against agreement. Knowing a handful of theses roots can help you decipher tricky words including medical and scientific.
- Try oquiz apps like quizlet

- Listen to audiobooks. Most libraries have a free audiobook section. Try a mix of genres: biographies, literary fiction, mystery, non fiction, philosophy, humor, or whatever else you enjoy. If you have a commute, audiobooks are a lifesaver and better for your brain than Candy Crush or Twitter.
- Mark up your books and try to make personal connections to them. For example, Kindle has a function that lets readers mark and look up sections. After every chapter make a connection by answering one of these questions/statements

Example with a made up word
John is a joy to watch as he flubinates foundation. -
Try substituting other words for “flubinates” to make sense.
Applies, buffs, brushes and so on would be good guesses.
-Join book club at your library or online.
- Watch The Discovery Channel, PBS, C-SPAN, NPR’s news and entertainment and culture programs, and look up online guides to museums. Listen to a classical music station on Spotify. Most people like Mozart and Bach for a start. Vivaldi, Rachmoninoff, and Chopin are also pleasant to listen too.
- Learn about different cultures. Food is a great place to start. Fashion and religion are others.
- Read magazines like: Smithsonian and National Geographic. Vanity Fair also has great articles. Ignore the ridiculous adverts.
- Watch classic films. You can’t go wrong with Alfred Hitchcock or many of the musicals from the 30s-60s. Many of these films are based on ideas from literature. Ben Hur is a good example.
- The more varied your influences, the better your vocabulary will become. It will also make you a ringer at pub trivia nights.

Mareh Golden and so fake. I’m Scottish like him and trust me no one sounds as posh as him in the UK, not even the Queen. Go back and watch his older videos and you’ll see how he’s changed his accent.
He sounds like he's had elocution lessons, I have a friend from the outer hedbrides same as him and she totaly has our North West accent now, sometimes accents change/evolve, who knows, 🤷♀️

Very interesting how paler skins have the same issues as dark skin when it comes to selecting a foundation.

Paps LS exactly. if there’s any time that they make a very pale foundation, it’s almost always warm toned and it’s absolutely awful.
Since John has such beautiful pale skin, I wonder if he has tried Korean foundations and concealers? There are many Korean brands that cater to pale skin :)
i doubt any would match him. i'm an nc10-15 so darker than him and shade 13 in most korean foundations can be too dark for me still :/ also, they tend to have really odd, either orange or SUPER pink undertones, which kinda make one look dead or at least very off.
