So true! It's devastating how these Offred's never got to reach Canada and maybe they didn't survive any longer after their stories ended. At least now, through the series, we can see that there is hope for Gelead's demise.
@@silverf8911 To be honest, that fact is quite a minor part of the book and it doesn’t really focus on Offred. I honestly recommend you read it though 🙂
I absolutely love that throughout this, they didn't move from June's face. Usually when a character says something that would cause an emotional response of some kind in another character, the show cuts to that person's reaction. This decision shows that they are focused on June's story and the rest is secondary. Love it.
Best part about this is just how it actually looks and sounds realistic. It's not "overly-hollywood" for lack of a better term, this footage looks like it could've been a real speech spoken by a real person.
Sadly women are oppressed other parts of the world so it is in some cases reality. And if Trump gets elected in 2024, the US is next whether ppl admit it or not.
Oh Emily wants blood too. Both she and June went through so much to the point where they can no longer function as a human being without getting their revenge!! 😔
That's why I don't let people pray for me - It's hard to know who they're praying to - this is what they treated women like in real life - some are currently living similarly.
Gilead is not on trial, Fred is. Plus, this is only supposed to be a small testimony before the trial even began, it's not the same as a witness being questioned by a lawyer. At the end, Fred's lawyer questions her because she consents to this, not because she is on the witness stand.
@@gabrielacard7050 Yes it matters because she has a limited time to say what Fred did to her. The DC fact would have been ignored has Fred wasn't in charge of DC and so technically wouldn't be held responsible for this particuliar thing. @@gilbotron88 In the show, Gilead was declared in 2014, its an alternate timeline from ours. In fact, they show that June didn’t realize what year it was until season 3. I really like how they didn't flick to any other character's faces during this. All the focus is on the victim.

Elizabeth Moss is sublime in this series. June is an amazing character.
It’s amazing how much June went through yet she was able to remain, somehow, mentally stable… Same as Moira, Emily, etc… Not so much for Janine :(
So strong!
June has serious PTSD and is incredibly focused on retribution. She’s a survivor but Gilead has hardened June almost beyond recognition.

Tbh June isn't mentally stable atp. She even kinda raped Luke?? weird that no one talked about it.

taken before Gilead -if you can remember.
