- My first time playing Subnautica! Had this in my games library for a longgg time and I’m finally playing it! I don’t usually play too many survival type games other than DayZ, so let’s see how this goes. If you have any tips on this game lemme know ❤

I've said this in multiple other people's playthroughs. The scanner room makes this game about 100 times easier. The scanner room with a HUD chip (that is created on the fabricator inside the scanner room itself) makes the game about 1000 times easier. Another piece of advice is to become a loot goblin. Take EVERYTHING. You're probably going to need it later on.
This game may feel a bit overwhelming in the beginning, but it is not very hard in regards to game mechanic. You may struggle a bit playing with a controller, as the game is easier on keyboard and mouse. But I have played through this game multiple times on both pc and consoles, so it is playable on consoles as well. The trick part is catching those fishes using a controller, as the fish tend to change direction fast. But later in the game you will find tools that will help with that. This game is also well worth taking your time with, because you will miss it when you complete the game. I did, thus the multiple playthroughs and watching countless playthroughs of it on youtube. It is a quite popular game for playthroughs on youtube, and many youtubers find that they get an influx of subscribers when playing this game. But that has its downsides as well, like potensial spoilers in the comments. And this game you do not want spoiled. So be vary of reading comments on your subnautica videoes. And it may be wise to put your Subnautica videoes in a playlist. That makes it easier for vewers to follow your playthrough since they can store your playlist and easily find and watch your videoes when they come out. Doing live streams of the game is not adviceable. This is a game that requires your full attention and live chat distracts from that.
Some tips (non-spoilery in regards to story) below:
In the options, there are checkboxes under accessability which may make it easier to read pda entries while underwater.
Scan everything that can be scanned. And read pda entries for some tips as well.
