Ive sat in Lockwood with one rod and a optonics one day a carp over 40Ib swam right up to me to the bank I fed him my sandwich cheese and onion. I didnt move just watched him/her. That was priceless

Memory’s …my first ever perch from the perch pond and also 158 bus to Blackhorse Road going to Walthamstow or run home from school on Friday and tube to Snaresbrook for night fishing over the hollow ponds making sure to look for carp in the eagle on the way past
Mr Dempsey you might know or knew Fred and Carole my my mates mum and dad. I think he night fished Warwick. We used to fish Coppermill stream big roach. I have a picture grand union canel under the westway in Paddington easy a 25Ib mirror. Floating bread crust I pulled it away from at least 2 smaller carp I was 14 but I'd seen the big one so I waited for him, then he did the same as you said just mouthed it I had a course rod a Mitchell reel 5Ib line and it took me under every boat. I now wont do that but I'd never caught a fish over 3Ib including tench. Then 5 yrs ago I met a young lad the canel next to Sainburys Ladbrokes Grove he lent me his rod at least a 15Ib bream on sinking bread ball size 16 hook I gave him the rod and I netted it and the smile on his face was worth it. I bought 2 tins of corn put it in one spot next to an orange traffic cone on the bottom from the bridge. I was going for a monster orange and white koi I'd seen the week before. I've caught a 5lb rainbow from is it resovoir 4 I forget. Getting up at 4am on the tube to Tottenham Hale was the best time of my life that was 1989 I guess, it got me off the streets. The river Lea was great then as well.
Any old iron any any old iron quality. Them carp was old irons aswell , new to to the big carp scene so give the comp ago reservoir 2 was his old favourite
