for anyone confused about the difference between Gibdos and Redeads, Redeads are the zambies you fight in OoT and WW, they scream to freeze you and then latch onto you to drain your health. Gibdos are the things you fight in TP with the big swords, and are very similar to redeads, being zambies that scream to freeze you, but instead of draining your health in that game they just crush you with a big af sword. and it appears in this game they are also legally insects :)
Gibdos were also in Zelda 1 as well, serving as the mummy enemies there as well. Not quite sure how they ended up being bug-like zombies in TotK, but I ain't complaining. They are freaky in this game.
The fact that Ganon's tear was implanted on his forehead, and how in botw you have to shoot the forehead of Calamity Ganon to officially destroy him with a Bow that seals darkness with light, it really just awes me how much is really thought of when connecting the story progression with these two games
and how the dragons are sometimes seen in the depths through the shrine holes or apparently some hole in the center of lake hylia, and they go through a portal in the sky, which it too high to be viewed by link in breath of the wild. it's just such a nice touch to see how these things really connect with each other
ganon's forehead is typically his weakness. it's been a motif that the finishing move is his forehead ever since ocarina of time. the only major exception was twilight princess, which put it onto his stomach. also he has gems and such on it throughout the series so I think it runs deeper than just between botw and totk
I think it's more rauru had a third eye on his forehead and ganon wanted to be stronger than rauru (I'm pretty sure he even respected him) so his stone was there due to that but both could be correct
crazy thing is this game confirms that the calamity was just a puppet created from his power just LEAKING out. With him in full control it makes sense why this game is so much harder and why gloom is more dangerous than malice was.

Thats because the past Ganon had never seen her in the present clothes and were not able to create an illusion of Zelda with the present blue tunic. And thats why we see her roaming around Hyrule in Zonai clothes
@Zakareya Alatoli Due to how she went back in the timeline, technically the first time Ganondorf would see Zelda is when she was wearing the ancient Hyrulian/Zonai clothing.
And, that ganondorf is the WW ganondorf, thus, the smile being like that. Which makes it make even more sense as you can start to connect the dots between WW story and TotK story

For anyone wondering about the length of time skip between BOTW and TotK, it is not yet confirmed. The wiki (for whatever you can trust it) on the Tulin page says “several” years have passed, how wonderfully vague. If we use Mattison as a metric, who seems to be about 4-5, we get that potentially ~5-6 years have passed. That is complicated by the fact that in the BOTW lore, Gerudo mature faster than Hylians, so she could be potentially as young as 3, pushing ToTK to only ~4 years after BOTW. We have no further metric for base Gerudo ages at the moment, but they *might* use the same age of adulthood as the Hylians, that being 17, keep this in mind for later. Edit2: someone in the comments reminded me that Link in BOTW is not considered old enough for a Noble Pursuit, but is once TotK comes around, which leads me to believe that 17 is *not* the age of adulthood for Gerudo. Another metric could be Tulin, as he seems to age from ~7 in BOTW to ~13 in TotK, which seems to support a gap of ~6 years. That however is complicated that Rivali’s age at death was 21, and imo he looks comparable to what you might expect someone ~30 to look like, which implies that Rito could develop faster than Hylians, and that ~6 years could once again perhaps be ~4 years. Purah is no help at all since she artificially locked herself to her ~20-25 year old form from Age of Calamity. TotK Link and Zelda and Paya have not substantially aged from their BOTW selves, with BOTW Link and Zelda at the Hylian age of majority of 17, and BOTW Paya at ~18-20, so I doubt the gap was more than a few years. Where am I going with this? Riju is confirmed to be 12 in BOTW. Even the most generous estimates of the time gap have her at 17-18, which *might* mean adulthood for the Gerudo, but also might not, and given that she is still on par with Link in height even in Heels, whereas the known Gerudo adults are all substantially taller than Link, I think it is reasonable to assume that she is not yet a full adult, and is in all likelihood still a teenager, so please stop whining about Erik censoring chat and telling them to stop being creepy about the potentially underage person. Edit: Inb4 I get a bunch of comments saying: “I’m a teenager/similar age, it’s fine if I do it”, perhaps take this into consideration: an important lesson that I believe is part of maturity is realizing that being horny on main/in public rather than coming across as funny can contribute to making an environment where people feel unsafe, so consider learning to keep such things private.
@@Cakespresso If you read my comment, I already addressed Link being considered an adult for Hylians in BOTW, but thanks for the reminder that he did not seem to be considered a full alcohol-ready adult to the Gerudo.
Actually I think you don't really need to do any math for this. Every Gerudo adult we see is like 1.5x taller than Link and Riju is Link's height. Thus We have more reason to assume that she is a teenager than to assume she is an adult. Thus having an entire chat (probably not full of teenagers) behaving like chat did was disgusting, or at least inappropriate Plus Pointcrow said something that was really on point during the stream : If you need to debate if someone is "legal" then you probably shouldn't lust over them in the first place

The Redead uses to give me massive repulsive and disconcerted vibes when I was a kid, with OOT. It was one of my first instances being utterly disgusted by how something moved, looked, and sounded to a horrifying degree. Not sure why it was them, as they're pretty tame lol. It just makes me feel validated how yakky Point is getting setting Redead 2.0 lol.
29:15 - that was one of the easiest shrines for me, yet I was completely astonished with how smart Eric was to find that solution. Like, holy hell, that was brilliant!!!
Btw, Gibdos have already existed in previous Legend of Zelda games, along with ReDeads. So Gibdos in TotK aren't just renamed ReDeads. (albeit they do share similarities, since ReDeads are basically zombies, while Gibdos have always been mummies)
1:05:33 as a Backyardigans fan, it’s my duty to point out that the type of instruments gathered are the same types gathered in the worman polka palace episode. Seeing the whole band ride on a raft stirred that up in me. Drums, horn, wind, strings. Is this a common quartet? I’ll probably google it later but it’s just a cool memory.
20:52 Fun fact, when I played this, I didn't know those removable blocks were there. I thought the puzzle was going back through the entrance and using ascend under it. It technically worked, but upon leaving I noticed those blocks and felt very stupid lol
As soon as the Ultrahand crafting mechanic was revealed, my first thought was "Fusing Sidon with a Bookshelf to create Hyrule's first Car." I'm honestly surprised there hasn't been a reference to that yet. Surely I'm not the only one who thought that?
20:50 At least he actually found the intended solution. I didn't see the movable rocks so I trekked all the way through the basement until I was right underneath the room and used ascend. It wasn't until I was already in that I saw the rocks could be moved...
The way I learned gibdos are weak to every element is from when I used a leftover ice lizal spear, and noticed their skin turned white after a stab. After that I processed that they’re weak to elemental stuff, and I started chucking splashfruits at them after my spear broke
Anything elemental that's fused to a weapon/arrow affects a Gibdo. This includes all Chu Jelly, Elemental Keese Eyeballs/Wings, Elemental Fruit, King Dorphan's Scales and Elemental Ore Infused Melee Weapons. (Opal, Ruby, Sapphire and Topaz.) Killing a Gibdo can give you the single use (Only fuse on arrows.) fusible item, Gibdo Bone. It has one of the highest fuse boost increases (40.)
Since it seems you haven't noticed, most of the memory glyphs also have a korok somewhere in them. I've noticed it's usually where there is a tear shape (I'm not talking about the memory tear, I mean one in the glyph)
I don’t blame Eric for taking 35 minutes in the rail shrine. They don’t make it super obvious what you have to build, but once you figure it out you FIGURE it out I just can’t wait for him to get to more rail shenangians and wind Bomb his way out of it 💀
For anyone also playing whenever you see one of those cherry blossom trees like pcrow saw on satori mountain look around the tree trunk youll see a stone dish/dais. If you set an apple on it similar to the korok puzzles with the stone statues you offered apples in breath of the wild something neat happens. :)
I really like how in tears of the Kingdom, depending on what your character is wearing, he will wear it in the cut scene, compared to something like breath of the wild, where all the cut scenes usually pop up in the past, and the ones in the present don’t appear as cinematic as tears of the Kingdom

That built for rails shrine took me the longest any of them has taken so far. I ended up making a table with three legs so it would ride all three rails at the same time
In the water temple with the fire door you are supposed to envelop yourself in water from sidon and just walk through. The game is built in a way so you don't need zonai devices to do something just in case you don't have any, tho yes they can be used, and I'm this case worked perfectly too, and I love the freedom it gives you as a player
Dear point crow, I think you would like to know that in the water temple, for the fast spinny thing you were meant to go to into bullet time and shoot it with chuchu jelly . You didn't cheese it. You did it the hard way 💀
I wonder, what would happen if you went exactly where Zelda is standing in the Blood Moon cutscene, and then triggered a Blood Moon? Would you catch her?
I had obscene dumb luck and shot that switch through the spinning cube on the 3rd try from ground level. Yet another incident in my saga of "I doubt that's how I was supposed to do it, but...works for me!"
It took me a while to realize that Ganondorf killed Sonia by straight up shattering her spine. Like... how evil can you get? Punching her bones in half?? Its so good for painting his character
even tho i watched all the streams so far, appreciating all the editing work and watching scenes for the second time is just as entertaining as the first time :D
personally i avoided eating in combat in order to not just cheese the literal entire game, but i would absolutely chow down the moment the fight was over
1:23:41 …no…wait… it can’t be… *it’s a splatoon 3 reference…shivers boss fight* THE INK THAT HURTS YOU,THE SQUID THAT RIDES THE INK SHARK- IT IS A REFERENCE!
The final final phase was cool but a little janky, the rest looked sick but was kinda underwhelming imo. Still GOTY for me with all that they have improved
The shrine you took 35 minutes on... I don't know how long I took, but my eventual solution was a box I could ride in. The box rotating wasn't a problem because I was surrounded on all sides by the platforms. I have no idea if my solution was the main "intended" one or not either.
At 19:34 This is why I say Recall can be used as a poor man’s Stasis. It freezing for a second is enough for quick yet time-based staying events to occur and so you can catch up to your ride. In addition to being poor man’s stasis, it’s also… actually how Recall is supposed to work obviously

Link is confirmed an adult btw...he can literally drink the alcohol beverage thats in gerudo
@@Cakespresso If you read my comment, I already addressed Link being considered an adult for Hylians in BOTW, but thanks for the reminder that he did not seem to be considered a full alcohol-ready adult to the Gerudo.
@@dr0g_Oakblood oh wait sorry lol i misread stuff, aha
@@Cakespresso it’s all good, don’t sweat it
Actually I think you don't really need to do any math for this.
Every Gerudo adult we see is like 1.5x taller than Link and Riju is Link's height.
Thus We have more reason to assume that she is a teenager than to assume she is an adult.
Thus having an entire chat (probably not full of teenagers) behaving like chat did was disgusting, or at least inappropriate
Plus Pointcrow said something that was really on point during the stream : If you need to debate if someone is "legal" then you probably shouldn't lust over them in the first place

Btw, Gibdos have already existed in previous Legend of Zelda games, along with ReDeads. So Gibdos in TotK aren't just renamed ReDeads.
(albeit they do share similarities, since ReDeads are basically zombies, while Gibdos have always been mummies)

For those wondering about the rail puzzle…
It’s a T shape. You need something between the rails so your platform doesn’t fall off.
I was so upset that I did it right when Eric did it wrong and it still worked. 😅
I don't know, I think the yellow shirt suits the character better.
20:52 Fun fact, when I played this, I didn't know those removable blocks were there. I thought the puzzle was going back through the entrance and using ascend under it. It technically worked, but upon leaving I noticed those blocks and felt very stupid lol
Same 😂
Holy shit, you have a massive brain
As soon as the Ultrahand crafting mechanic was revealed, my first thought was "Fusing Sidon with a Bookshelf to create Hyrule's first Car."
I'm honestly surprised there hasn't been a reference to that yet. Surely I'm not the only one who thought that?
Watching pointcrow solve the desert puzzles I realized I solved them ALL wrong.
Tbh if you solved them at all you solved them correctly. It worked didn't it?
TotK uses the immersive sim school of solving problems. A blocked door could have a key, could be lockpicked, or you could just bulldoze it.
Meanwhile pointcrow did the water temple spinning tower obstacle by brute force, so there's that. :P
@@sinteleon yeah, In my run, I shot a bomb arrow into the spinning tower 😼

All elements make gibdo vulnerable. You used lightning and light, but water, ice, & fire all work as well.
20:50 At least he actually found the intended solution. I didn't see the movable rocks so I trekked all the way through the basement until I was right underneath the room and used ascend. It wasn't until I was already in that I saw the rocks could be moved...

They don’t make it super obvious what you have to build, but once you figure it out you FIGURE it out
I just can’t wait for him to get to more rail shenangians and wind Bomb his way out of it 💀
Do you mean botw wind bombing cause from what I know you can’t do that in totk?
@@jordansanimationsandidk1929 He found a way to wind bomb (kind of) in the video, involving bomb shields.
