My understanding of the song is that AKMU is criticizing the brutal Korean education system and how competitive it is even in the elementary school level. You hear much about Korean tiger moms(dads) and helicopter parents who are pressuring their children to sign up for 5 different academic/non-academic institutes to one-up the others. That's why the MV highlighted the '1st' multiple times, and the kid who survives the 'war' was given another 'uniform(school/military)' to advance to the next level of education(battlefield) to repeat everything. It's a constant Battle Royal. It's a bit extreme and exaggerated in my opinion, but that's art.

This song is absolutely amazing and the MV is just so so good. Probably one of my favorites MV's of the year. Plus the lines "When your ears stop ringing, there is gonna be screaming"- absolute chills. AKMU really cannot make a bad song AND their music is constantly growing and evolving.
This society is a battlefield. Modern civilization, which has to win private education and all kinds of competition since childhood. You have to win so you get your uniform as a reward. The world is wrong. The things in Suhyun's room are upside down. The sky was blue, either way. Humanity should make further efforts for peace. Politicians should try to break down the barriers between countries without gold on the ground and make the people of the Low Countries peaceful.
I am posting this two days after Valentines Day and since this song came out there has been one thing on my mind. I am older than you guys, and I have lived my life in North America and I have never seen a war "close up". In Korea, most people are at most 1 generation from war in their back yards. I really wonder what it was like for some of them to see this video. No matter what they meant by this, for us, it is not going to be the same. . . . .

Well that's only the artist's intent, we should not restrict the meaning of the Mv to their interpretation only.
