My interpretation for Hey Kid is about the education system in Korea rather than the actual war. Based on what I know, the education system in SK gives so much pressure to the kids to do well in school/get into good univ with some unrealistic standard. The competition between students, long study time until way way late at night, and the level of difficulties these students need to live through for most of their youth feels like the system thrown them into battlefields where they need to fend for themselves. When the girl survived and entered the room, the adult just gave her a new uniform, which means her survival only means that she has to enter a new and harder battlefield. The message to hang in there, is because once they graduated from school, they can get more freedom of choice compared to when they were younger, hopefully.
Totally agree with this interpretation. But I like to interpret more negatively in that every stage will be a new battlefield. It never lets up even in adulthood.
Hey Kid close your eyes's MV is so powerful, especially paired with the song. (Which I've been addicted to) its just SO GOOD- as someone who wishes to pursue filmmaking in the future,I find it just absolutely stunning and wonderfully made. Also the line, "Once your ears stop ringing, There's going to be screaming"- absolute chills. AKMU are somehow always getting better and better! I love Nakka as well!
Battlefield aka hey kid, close your eyes is probably my favorite song of the year I haven't had a song on repeat this much in a long time which is super rare Plus the mv and lyrics are just fantastic
I wanted to know what the song was exactly about. I only know the gist of it but I'm not sure so if u could explain it to me that would save a lot of time so if can, pls do tell😅
lee sun hee is a vocal legend in korea who has been a star since the 80s, shes conisdered to be the National Vocalist and in fact when NK and SK held a concert her songs were the most popular amongst all of the artists present. She is a pop culture and music LEGEND in south korea
For me it's quite easy distinguish tgeir voice, maybe because i always hear IU song daily. For Suhyun her voice is pretty clear in my opinion so it's easy for me.
Lee sunhee has the best song i’ve ever heard with traditional Korean instrumentals which is “fate” 😭😭😭😭 it’s so good I highly recommend it to you❤️❤️❤️ also she’s one of the most respectable senior in Korea
They just had their first live performance of the song on IU channel for anyone who want to confirm who sings what part haha. Even Chanhyuk said that IU and Suhuyn's voices are too similar.
I definitely felt it, I was on the edge of crying when I watch&listen to that song but also too crushed to actually cry. Can’t explain but that piled emotion really convey
Thank you for reacting to the reason why I've been hooked to Kpop finally after many years. I've known them in a replay of Kpop star season 2 a year ago and they win it all and look at them now, Successful and respectable artists in Korea (with the label "The Nation's Siblings") Throughout this 2 songs is a bop for sure and will rock the Charts and also get many awards ❤️ AKMU also deserves the world and be appreciated due to their genius compositions and One of a kind Harmony
i was interpreting “hey kids” as child victims in war torn countries who just have to “close their eyes” as their world falls apart but when suhyun sang about not wearing masks i guess it was about covid’s impact and the number of deaths and getting the school uniform like the world will go back to normal soon if you wait a little longer.
Great reaction! The MV for Hey Kid really got to me as well the first time I've seen it. What a message. My friend found it hard to figure out who was singing what in Nakka, but I always thought IU and Suhyun have very distinct voices hahahaha
They just dropped a vid with a commentary on both vids. :) they explain how Hey Kid is about kids facing real problems that seem just cute and trivial to adults, and how life is really like a battlefield.
I knew these 2 brothers but never heard of them, now she is doing one of the most beautiful programs ever seen where there is also Onew by Shinee. You Must to see them! I highly recommend you to watch the program because it really calms and cleans the soul but you can also see their performances on youtube both solo and duets, they devastate you and put it back together
You can watch Akmu’s funny and amazing performance. These two stages are my energy on these days. th-cam.com/video/eEDygghMA6A/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/w9JPCaj8VUc/w-d-xo.html Have a good time~!
Hi! actually Kaia (Safe Cave) already reacted to Melted! It was a combination reaction with Dinosaur and Happening, and you can find it in her Akmu reactions playlist! :)
There is really no emotion or feeling AKMU are unable to master and convey through their music Hey Kid, Close Your Eyes holds even more meaning when you consider that AKMU stands for Akdong Musician, or something similar to 'mischievous/fun children's music'
ChanHyuk explains the song NAKKA on IU's Palette The song itself is about hope The lyrics might sounded creepy cause it says "Close your eyes and fall" But what ChanHyuk meant is falling but there are no land, so you keep on falling through & comeback to where you are Something like that

Yeah! I understood the same. It also made me feel like it's okay to take some time and rest even if you feel like you're in a battlefield.
everyone who watch this mv though about what they county looks like, every reaction and comment had a different feel, the albums is an amazing art 😭

Yeah
True, i think it's because we listen to IU a lot so it's easier to know who is singing, but their voice are quite similar
Now I understand it. Why Suhyun's room was upside down. Falling is flying!
falling = rising = flying

Lee Sun Hee is a legend! she is called the national diva, also she has a song featuring exo chanyeol

Masks are not just about pandemics. When chemical weapons were used the soldiers wore masks too so i think it could be interpreted however you want.
akmu on iu's palette was just rrleased, you should react to it as well it was fun, they also sang nakka for the first time 😍
Both these songs sounded like they could be on a Walk the Moon album--I love WTM, so that's no bad thing. Love the retro sounds!
Great reaction! The MV for Hey Kid really got to me as well the first time I've seen it. What a message.
My friend found it hard to figure out who was singing what in Nakka, but I always thought IU and Suhyun have very distinct voices hahahaha
I can't distinguish which one is IU's voice and Suhyun's voice. But now I know😆😆😆. Their voices really similar.
It's easy. IU voice is very breathy and light where as Suhyun's voice is very full with resonance and is much higher than IU.😊

I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve cried to this song lmao
If you hear so much of IU's voice that I could easily know her parts hahaha..
thank you for this reaction video💛🧡

I'm dumb I can't understand the mv somebody please explain what happened.
For Hey Kid, close your eyes, it's about child soldiers. The one with IU is what happens before the eventual war in the previous MV. Hope it helps.
