I'm Jewish and I wear turbans all the time. I've been asked if I were Muslim, which amuses me because you, as a turban wearing Muslim, are asked if you are a Sikh. I have also been asked if I were a Yogi, which made me laugh outright. I'm so physically unfit, and yet because I wear a turban, I must practice yoga, right? I love how people make such assumptions. I do have to admit though, I try to be very mindful of my behavior when in public. I realize I represent the "religious" to those around me. I not only represent the religious Jew to those who know I'm Jewish, but to those who know nothing about me, I represent the religious Muslim, the Yogi, some forms of Christianity, etc. I do my best to live as a good person because I have a love of God, but I try even harder to be my best, because I don't want others blaming the religious, especially those of the wrong religion, for "my" shortcomings. Anyhow, I love when you post tutorials. I happen to think your personal style is simply amazing!
+Eliana Tali What a lovely soul you are! Well, I just wanted to inform you that the reason you were asked if you were a yogi, was because some of us sikhs are yogis or start out as kundalini yogis... cause really Sikhs have a lot to do with meditation... etc. Anyway, I agree, that either way you are representing 'god' loving individuals =) And Dina style is beautiful
H. Kaur She asked if I were a kundalini yogi, and I had never even heard of such before. I knew what a yogi was, but kundalini was new to me. Anyhow, thank you so much for the sweet comment, and the informational background. It's wonderful that we can all come together and learn from one another.
The reason why Sikh women's turban is higher is because of the amount of hair.they do not cut their hair mostly hence it keeps growing so when they tie it up,it forms a huge bun/load. Hope this explanation helped.
ShakirahIbaad yeah.that can be another contributing factor.im not so familiar with the female sikh tying ways but I know some sikh males who use from 4m - 8m of cloth for their turbans :)
Absolutely love it! I always tried turban style but it looked horrible on me! But I think this outfit went better with your normal Hijab Style! Much love from Germany!
Hey there! Germany is a beautiful country! Im sure youre gonna like it! Kiel is in the very north, but Im in south Germany! I wis you good luck on your treatment!
Dina! you're gorgeous, I've been watching your turban tutorials for like ever, as I tie a turban, being a practising Sikh. Much love, hugs and blessings your way, and especially warm fuzzy love for your little Baby Hana
so many arrogant people in the comment section. before you start being sarcastic and point out other ppl's mistake, look in the mirror and reflect about your own. And if you think your point has to be addressed, do it privately.
i love how I like her videos even before I watch them. they are always better than what I expect and I love love love how she does her make up. MASHAALLAH
I know you probably don't have any wrong intentions, well I hope so, but your hair is sticking out from your scarf which frankly speaking is not the right way to wear a scarf. There's just no point of it then especially since it's a sign of modesty and protection. Furthermore, some of the words you say on your videos is seriously just nasty. all you sisters who speak rude to those trying to help her obviously don't want what's best for her. Not being rude sister just think it should be said.
There is no where in the Quraan that it says every tiny little hair has to be covered. Keep in mind, in the time of the prophet PBUH, there were no pins, no under-scarves and even scarves were basically made out of nothing. Many will argue that just throwing a scarf on your head (WHILE making sure that your arms, legs, and chest are 100% covered) is a hijab. And by throwing a scarf on your head, i literally mean, throwing a scarf on your head- no pins, no tying, no underscarf, even bangs showing. That is actually what women wore at the time of the prophet PBUH. The rules about having to hide every hair and hiding your neck and some even say your chin, is only recently been implemented.
Zee A Yes there is lol. Every strand of hair should be covered. A woman had committed adultery in the time of the Prophet (S) and she wanted to know her punishment (stoning), the Prophet (S) with his mercy told to woman to make Tawaaf around the Kaa'ba but expose one strand of hair (it was a representation as if she was naked).
Hello! How do you tie the skeleton scarf? so that would be the black one underneath the main scarf? Could you please do a tutorial on that? You could do it over another scarf, but just to get a basic idea of how it's done. please and thank you.
Oh how I love all the Hijab Police making such a big deal over a little hair showing. I think it looks cute and its not the end of the world. It's her own personal style and she is not stupid. She knew everything before you even said it. Her choice. Her life. Her business. SO PISS OFF AND GO EAT SOME HARAM STEAK!!! LOL
Its not just the hair gurrrl it is her neck too and the High Big bun..:/ i am Not a hijab Police just Wanted to say it bc You Said That a Bit hair is Not a Big Deal..
I just find it amazing how ppl can carry on about how other ppl live their lives, whether its right or wrong. ppl who wear hijab know how they SHOULD be wearing it. dont get all upset, defensive and offensive attacking each other over someone who isnt even bothered to defend herself because she doesnt have to. Its got nothing to do with anyone how someone chooses to wear their hijab because its between that person and Allah SWT. you ppl who are attacking each other are pathetic because who are carrying on like mad ppl who fight over non muslim idols. this is no different. wrong doing should be pointed out in private not publicly so keep your comments to yourself if it has nothing to do with the hijab. and yes i wear hijab the proper way, perform my 5 daily solaahs and more so dont bother attacking me. just hope you ppl can see yourselves acting the way you are...
Dina please please please do visit Kuwait! It's the perfect surrounding for fashionable hijabies and the hijabs are so pretty, elegent and comfy as well as the clothes :)

I am a not Muslim but still adore you deeply! You've got all the skills girl, bless your sweet heart :)

Thank you for this explanation!!! Really interesting to know (:
Isn't it because of the fact that turbans are made of a lot of material, they are really really long when I have seen them being wrapped
ShakirahIbaad yeah.that can be another contributing factor.im not so familiar with the female sikh tying ways but I know some sikh males who use from 4m - 8m of cloth for their turbans :)

***** you know what if someone sins privately we give the advice privately. But if someone sins publicly we advice him publicly.
@zee matt wow! So now you be telling me how to be a Quranist. May Allah guide us "All".
