    P & O have that food system because of hygiene issues that the buffet caused.

      On a cruise with a group, one of our group recorded a man handling the food with his hands and putting it back in the serving area on the MSC Seaside! I can understand the food system on P&O cruises, been on the Pacific Jewel. Like Royal Caribbean better!

    All I got from this video was a complete smack down on P&O Cruises Australia.
    I've never had any issues on board any of the 6 cruises I've done with them. The staff are amazing.
    I think that you should've just made it about how you don't like P&O, because really this is all this video is about.

    I preferred the way P&O serve food. Far more hygienic! Last thing I want is to be eating something someone else has been playing with .. let alone 100s of people ... especially kids that aren’t being watched by parents. #Yuck

    They're called decks not levels. Sounds to me like you went on P&O expecting the worst so it was the worst. P&O cabin stewards refer to passengers by name...they do the towel animals... P&O do have cruise directors... You are comparing a 28 year old ship to a 16 year old ship. Kind of pointless really

      Totally agree have been on 2 p&o cruises Britannia and Azura and couldn’t fault them the cabin staff are amazing! And all the staff is so friendly I would say that from what I have seen carnival is more family based with all the rides and activities but p&o have things for everyone the kids club staff are amazing and so friendly

    i sorry but i disagree with some of the p&o statements, p&o is a great cruise line and sadly i think you must have struck a bit of bad luck on your p&o cruise. i have been on 8 p&o cruises and 2 carnival cruises and p&o was by far my favourite and never had any troubles that you mentioned. i guess its different perspectives. good video, sorry you didn't like p&o as much as i do!!!!

    Recently went cruising with P & O and for night dining we had to book on the first night for set times for dinner. Breakfast and lunch you could just rock up but not for dinner. We had 6 people in our group and we had same table and waiters each time. Service and food was lovely. Very happy with the whole cruise and we are going again in April but to a different destination. Looking forward to it very much.

    Just a few things, the eating times can be either choose your own time or set time dining, both options are available at the time of booking only make sure you ask about this when booking or it will be chosen for you which it sounds like has happened to you, second big thing I actually exact opposite in terms of things to do and staff quality level, I went on carnival spirits first voyage to New Zealand and honestly it was lacking in entertainment and the staff were hit or miss a few were amazing and others were just meh, I sailed on an older P&O ship and even so the entertainment was great, the food was amazing and he staff were on first name basis by the third day we knew all our bar tenders and waiters and they knew us. It sounds like you definitely prefer carnival and you could be right but from my experience P&O was better

    Hi Dana. Thanks heaps for your informative video and personal comparisons to these two cruise lines as I was trying to see which would suit my family of 3. You have definitely made it easier to choose. Definitely going with Carnival as we have a 13 year old who I think would get much more fun experiences than what P&O can offer, and we love the idea of latr night pizza when we want. I recently came of Royal Caribbean that had this also. Reason I'm not booking eith them this time was for a few reasons but mostly the "bedding".. sleeping on a single lounge in a "3 bed balcony room" they class as a bed was the most uncomfortable I've ever slept. This time, even though it's a different cruise line, I've opted the mini suite so we all sleep comfortably no matter who gets the extra bed. Your comparisons were absolutely helpful so, thanks again for your honest opinion.

    Went on P&O Pacific eden in October, the staff were always kind, no rude bartenders all of the staff were nice, food was amazing, definitely try angelos and the dragon Lady, the adults only space had a swimming pool, beautiful bar, lounges & pods,
    And even live music. For our next cruise we may go with carnival or royal,
    Just to change things up a bit.

    Thank you for your video, I appreciated it! I would love to see more comparison videos. Your video was about your personal experience, people don't have to agree but you are entitled to your opinion. Keep up the good work 😊 I've been on a Carnival cruise and couldn't fault it and I'm going on my first P&O cruise next year, so I'm curious to see how they compare. I appreciated hearing your opinion and experiences. As far as cruise directors/entertainment directors etc and who had what I'm not fussed on. I agree, I liked having a buffet you could serve your own food. I don't like the sound of no free food like pizza 24/7 like Carnival have. Sometimes you want a bite to eat, so having to pay for it is a bit annoying. Going on my own is way more expensive than going with another person so I find it annoying I'm paying for food. But I like that P&O have drink alcohol packages which I don't think Carnival have, unfortunately I'm only going on a 4 night cruise so I won't be able to have an alcohol inclusive drinks package.

    The reality is that P&O is WAY cheaper than Carnival. P&O is very good for the price you are paying. Your cruise experience also depends on the attitude you have.

      So true. P&O do have reasonable cruise fares and sometimes they have $1 deposits. I have cruised with P&O and I surely got my money's worth and had a ball on board P&O Pacific Pearl. Love to cruise again.

    I’ve been on 6 cruises with P&O and never have I had breakfast or dinner served to me. The Buffet is help you self and take as much or as little as you desire. All food is behind glass with a large gaps.

    I've been on a P&O and a Carnival Cruise and overall I preferred Carnival because I believed they had a wider range of activities for the families. The comedy on the Carnival was amazing! On Carnival they had free soft serve idea cream which was delicious ;) the dining room on the Carnival Spirit was so cool and I would definently recommend Carnival for Families.

    I went on the Pacific Eden with P & O and I liked it. It sounds like we went on the similar boat!
    There was back to school night and Gatsby night on my cruise too. The security (especially youth security!) was terribly rude. My sister got sea sick on the first night.
    However the house keeping you described for CARNIVAL sounded like our one for P & O. The stewards knew our names and made towel elephants for us. The put chocolates (one for each person) with the good times/HQ+ itinerary.
    Most of the things on P & O where good. There was more trivia than you described but the other things you said were true (food past nine and tenders ect).
    I’m going cruising again next year and I might try carnival thanks to your advice. I’m a little skeptical of the help yourself food though because it’s unhygienic.
    One last thing, what carnival cruise did you go on?

    I’m guessing you were cruising with P&O Australia 🇦🇺 and not on P&O UK 🇬🇧. If so I would say that this review/comparison is more than a little misleading. It would be helpful if you were to specify as P&O Australia is a different company under the carnival umbrella and operates on decommissioned ships from the likes of P&O (Two of which came from Ocean Village).

    The 'Carnival Cruise lines' company owns P&O cruises and most others so the cruise ships will mostly be the same. Stop being so picky about a cruise ship. What'd u expect, a 5 star luxury Cabin with excellent food and no problems at all. Why don't you just stop comparing and get a life.

      just as i guess, as soon as you mention about their buffet style. Younger people prefer self-serve with food, while older prefer others to serve. With those buffets, make sure you come early to avoid food poisoning on Carnival buffet. 10 minutes late, that serving spoon has already changed hands 100 times, with 1000 gems on it. Medical fees for doctor consultation is expensive onboard.

    Carnival also has anytime dining, so you can rock up anytime between the set dinner times. Wifi wasn't too bad on carnival in August don't remember the price tho. Haven't been on any other cruise line other than Carnival because I keep hearing the same thing. Carnival outshines most Other Cruise Lines especially in Australia. I cant fault Carnival in my experience. Thanks for the video, it adds more weight to how good Carnival is and gives me an insight into P&O.

    Thanks for that I've traveled with P&O twice and first time was with them in 2010 then in 2012 and not again. I'm looking at cruising again and was nearly considering going with them as from Brisbane we don't have many choices. I've been on Royal Carribean but you pay in American Dollars which for us Aussies we lose money otherwise I'd choose RC everytime. Might look into Carnival or Princess as I've just cruised with Emerald Princess but still think RC are the best. What Carnival ship did you cruise with.

    Hi Dayna, I’ve recently been in a P&O cruise and in comparison, your opinions match directly up with mine. It’s annoying on P&O how there is no food or not a lot of food after 9pm and you have to pay for the food you order ($13 for a pizza AND they don’t offer pineapple on anything!)
    Also I find the staff friendlier on Carnival with much more entertainment options and they seem to care how you feel.
    I also like on Carnival that every bar you go to has different drinks!
    Thanks for all of the info!!

    My first ever cruise was with P&O cruises. Went on a 3 night comedy cruise on board Pacific Pearl back in 2014. I had a bad experience with P&O on this cruise. Me and my ex partner flew to Auckland and had airport transfers where we' we're taken to the wharf to meet the ship. When we arrived at at the whalf I saw my ex partner get her suitcase from the boot when I grabbed my one out. People came out to collect them. My suitcase was delivered outside my cabin door but not hers. On the second day the both of us went to reception and was told that we had to pay $70 cause it had to be brought to the ship from Auckland airport. Which wasn't quite true. After disagreeing and arguing with reception, after 20 mins they gave it back and told us to enjoy our Cruise. That night i went to the casino to play on the slot machines. I put money into the slot and the guy that worked there came over and told me that I had to use my cruise card and not money. I asked him if l get a refund and he said no. They should tape up the money slots so people don't get fooled like u did and they should have signs around the casino so people don't get ripped off. On the last morning before we disembarked I received a phone call and some guy on the other end reckon that I owed thirty something dollers for something I purchase and did have enough funds to pay for. Now this sounds very dodgy cause when you use your cruise card to purchase things you have to have the right amount for the purchase. If you don't have enough on the cruise card then you have to go to reception and load your card up with money. It's like an eftpos card, if you don't have enough then you get declined.
    They wanted the model I bought of the Pacific pearl for what they reckon I owed and I happily handed over. Didn't wanna make a scene.. But other than that I had a ball of a time on
    board Pacific pearl. And I'm thankful that P&O introduced me to what cruising is all about. Thanks P&O. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I have no regrets cruising with you again in the near future.

    Everyone carnival is the owner of p and o when Princess cruises are done with a ship they give it to p and o like Holland America gave a ship and Princess you guys know that the Pacific explorer was a princess ship before going to p and o and the Pacific Eden was from Holland America ship carnival owners all those cruises companies so yeah when you go on a p and o it's basically a carnival ship just a little different but yeah 😁

    P & O in Australia SUCKS. I was just saying to hubbie the other night. When you are on P&O , you feel like you're on a ship. When you are on any other liner out of AUS - It feels like a resort.
    We went on P&O Jewel. I think I would rather a holiday on Spirit of Tasmania :D I agree with your video 100%

    My two cruises have both been with Princess Cruises. I was a little disappointed that the drinks package wasn't explained. Going on a Cunard Cruise is on my bucket list. Last cruise i was right up the front. Perhaps lucky with the weather, got rocked gently to sleep every night

      Booked next year with P&O to New Caledonia as there wasn't a Princess Cruise going. Will be interesting to compare the two lines. Also I am traveling on Pacific Explorer, my beloved Dawn Princess so will also see what they have done to my ship??!!

    AT the end of the day it doesn`t matter who is better than who .... Like any holiday it`s what you make of it .. if you don`t like something then move on til you find something you do like .. it`s not rocket science .. You can choose to complain whinge and whine or you can choose to give people the positives by saying there were some things you didn`t like but the things I did like were .... This way you are not damaging the reputations of any company and people will make a far better decision and weigh up the pros and cons for themselves ( Just my opinion)

      Molly Borol If you don’t like my opinions then it’s simple, don’t watch. Again, this is all my own opinions based on my experience. I didn’t have a great experience on P & O but have a fantastic one with Carnival. I can only base my opinion on what I have personally experienced. I’m glad you had a great experience with P&O but that doesn’t mean you have to be rude about how I’ve made my video! Thanks!

    • @mollyborol7369
      @mollyborol7369 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    • @mollyborol7369
      @mollyborol7369 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dayna Mitchell whether it’s your opinion or not you should have your facts right before making a video to guide people on which cruise line to go on so you don’t give them false information because this video is full of false information and not only is it bad publicity for the cruise line but it’s also going to effect peoples holidays and that’s their break away from everything so get your facts right next time

    • @mollyborol7369
      @mollyborol7369 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dayna Mitchell I’m not sure if the p&o cruises are different in Australia but you should try the ones in Britain and in Malta, they are amazing that may be why we have different experiences however it would be greatly appreciated if you would brush up on your facts before making a video. I have been on 5 cruises all on p&o and I’m only 14 so I have never experienced another cruise line but p&o has always been top notch

  • @mollyborol7369
    @mollyborol7369 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Sounds like you are just saying that everything on p&o is bad and anyone watching this wondering whether to go on a p&o cruise THEY ARE AMAZING I’m 14 year old and I’m going on my 6th cruise this summer and they have all been on p&o, do not trust this video it is not accurate

    Thanks so much for this review of P&O Australia and Carnival Australia cruises. I've had several cruises with P&O Australia, and I agree that they are lacking. The limited dining hours and the ridiculously long queues for the tender boats are very annoying. Their fare prices used to be cheap, but not now :(
    I have not yet done a Carnival Australia cruise, but I have done a Princess cruise. The Sea Princess was annoying because the design of the ship had very limited lounge areas with a view of the o fan, plus the showroom is only one-level, with only two staircases - be prepared for very loooong wait times to exit after shows. This ship also attracted lots of very elderly passengers, and many of the passengers are very frail, and this ment other passengers were delayed when moving around the ship. Princess cruises are noticeably more expensive, and this explains why there are almost no families with kids. One good thing was that the food is much better than on P&O Australia.
    This helpful video will prepare me for a future trip on the Carnival Spirit. Thank you.
