Would it be possible to look at the NHL players that Played in Europe during the 2004-5 Lockout. That would be a very interesting video or video series. As always interesting as usual.
Was a season ticket holder for the Portland Pirates during those years. Tugger was fan favorite. I always thought his play in Portland is why Ottawa was willing to sign him. Keep up the good work. Love your videos. BTW...huge Nuck fan from the east coast.
Thank you so much for doing this video. I think that I watched every game that he played with the Pens,(which was sometimes difficult,as I worked in the kitchen at Mellon Arena at the time)and he impressed me greatly. I was borderline angry when we didn't keep him. Also a great hockey name to boot. Cheers to Ron Tugnutt!
Tugger was a great goalie and even a better guy. If you knew his Father then you would know why Ron was such a great guy. Just to add to your video, Ron’s Father passed away just before the end of his career and it really effected Ron and his game and led to the demise of his game too. He and his Father were very close and it took a long time for Ron to be able to deal with it.
Ron tugnutt for president -cbj slogan during the expansion era We loved tugnutt. He kept his chin up playing behind scrubs and "happy to be here" expansion players. He'd always drink free in our bars.
Of the Pittsburgh/Washington playoff series, the round in 2000 (with Tugnutt) was the most enraging for Capitals fans. Specifically the 1-2-2-1-1 home format....
@The Hockey Guy i think last night's 65 save performance by that austrian goalie against sweden, was a tugnutt tribute performance 😉 cheers from southern ontario 🇨🇦
Tugnutt was AWESOME. He was used a lot on the ducks as a "closer" and when the starter needed a break. He would go in and get so many shutouts (periods) that it was unreal. If closing a game was a stat, tugnutt is near the top for me.
As a Penguins fan I was so happy when they traded Tom Barrasso I didn't really care who they got in return.. I was happy with Tuggnut and I wish things could have been a little bit better
Because I'm older than dirt, his career reminds me of a fella by the name of Gilles Meloche-a dude that faced a barrage of shots every night but the law of averages would always catch up to him.
I would like your videos much more and would watch more of them if you edited in stills and short clips of the subjects you are talking about. Take it to the next level, buddy...
His save% from all his NHL seasons: .888, .935, .936, .913, .905, .924, .920, .908 (.915 career save%). He also has a Calder Cup championship (where he was named MVP) on his resume so he really isn't that bad. Just has gotten a bad reputation for some reason and been unfortunate to play on shitty teams as well as being injured.
Lehner has flashed elite goaltender stats in the past. The guy is young still for a goalie he is way better than you think. I wish Buffalo would trade him back to Ottawa
Huge Tugnutt fan. One of the most underrated goalies ever!
Best name in hockey

For insurance and tax purposes a lot of players played on artist contracts. They played 6-8-10 games and then played in another country.

Best moment of his career is when he was injured with a groin pull. Tugnutt out with a groin pull will always be funny to me
99-00 with Pittsburgh wasn’t that the year of the 5OT game vs the Flyers?

I was a hardcore Quebec fan during the "5 years of hell". I think they had 8 or 9 goalies in 1 season, probably 89-90. 31 pts, 12-61-7. LOL
Can you please rank each teams captaincy history and the current captains as well
From what I remember is he had a tendency to occasionally give up soft goals and they got to his head at that point

You forgot to mention he played in the 1999 All Star Game, albeit as a substitution for Cujo.
A Tugnutt/Puppa tandem woulda been great ;-)
I believe he is the only goaltender in NHL history to win the first game of two expansion teams - Mighty Ducks and Blue Jackets.
Always a team player would like to see him back in the league in some capacity.
Best. Name. Ever.

Rodney tugnutt! Now that's hockey!🏒
Dude faced more rubber then roadkill for real.

44 years old and I still laugh at Tommy’s last name.
Good choice with tugnut interesting
What a name
Have good memories of him playing for Quebec and Ottawa. Mostly Ottawa, but not his fault.
Tugnutt and Rhodes where a good pair for Ottawa when they started to have a good team in the late 90s.
I wonder if Tugnutt was able to handle starter minutes. He seemed to be at his best when he played about half the season.
Tugnutt was at his best when he donned the Ottawa Senators uniform.
May not have been the best goalie ever, but nobody dressed better.

My Nordique
TUGGER!!!!
The Pens management, despite winning 5 cups, if not for being brain dead, should have 9 cups.
😊
Maybe Chris Osgood if he had only played for crappy teams.
Give your balls a tug, he was a generation too soon - he would have been an absolute star just for Letterkenny if nothing else.
Watch Tugger make 70 saves!

That is an ugly Ducks logo
Lehner has never been good. Worst goalie in the shootout of all time.
