We on the right, are supposed to be those in favour of free speech, those against censorship and no platforming. I may not agree with John Bercow and what he has to say, but I will defend to the hilt his right to speak and say what he believes to be true. You get nothing by trying not to hear the other side, not to hear the other argument. You listen and you debate. You win by defeating your opponents not by wishing them away.
I never really had a problem with john, I do not agree how he handled Brexit and bringing his personal opinion to the commons, but I do miss him being in the chair than that Yorkshire man :-)
I liked Bercow, right up until he sided with the lefties. He should have remained neutral. He was almost as good a Betty and was far and away better than Hoyle, Hoyle has no presence in the chair and is just a bit of a drip. Sadly Bercow will never be speaker again and so the interesting times in the Commons will never come again. Having said that the House is a dull and dreary place now and I used to like watching the coverage of the Commons, but since Bercow left it has lost it's sparkle, that or the place has gone too woke. I also don't think he would have allowed Labour to spout their hatred at the Tories either.
I admire John Bercow. As simple as that.
