    I enjoy looking at all of your makes and I am also making the Downton cardigan using different wool and 5mm needles. I saw your first version of it and decided that I'd give it a go so I'm testing out the correct size for me as well right now but I'm getting there!

    Hi Cath, I knit a lot especially fairisle using pure wool, so I thought I’d tell you how I wash mine. First I turn them inside out and put them in individual laundry bags. Then I put them in the Washing Machine with either a wool wash or shampoo. Then I set the washer to the Wool wash setting but most important, I turn the temp to 0. Then they have a wash, if they’re still very heavy I will give them a little blast from the spin cycle. Then I let them dry naturally. I’ve not had a problem yet and I have loads of sweaters and cardigans, and they’re all 100% wool. Hope this helps.

    Love the Freya top! Looks lovely on you. I had some leftover fabric and thought yesterday that I’ll use it to make the same. Also love your wilder gown dress. Really suits you. I bought the pattern awhile ago and got some fabrics in mind but still couldn’t decide which one to use. Viscose or cotton lawn? Look forward to your next makes! Shirley 😘

      @madebycathcraft  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you very much Shirley. I enjoyed giving the Wilder gown a go, it was a fun pattern to sew. Good luck deciding which fabric to use for your version, I think it would be lovely in a viscose or a lawn 😊 thanks so much for watching

    Lovely makes Cath. I’ve just ordered some sport weight yarn from Love raft. Not used them before. I’m going to make 2 jumpers , one each for 2 of my grand daughters. I’m making the Cedar by Jessica MacDonald. It is on Ravelry, but cheaper on her website. I have just finsihed sewing 2 willow pinafores in a lovely needlecord and 2 pomegranate pyjamas, one in a Miffy fabric and one in a spiderman fabric. Just ordered another 6 metres of spiderman fabric and my 6 ft 5 in son has asked for some “ spiderman pyjamas “ too. This afternoon I will be sewing up two pairs of holiday pyjamas, the free pattern, for 2 other grand children in a lovely snuggly soft pink velours. Have a good week end x

    Isn’t the Ogden cami cut on the bias or did I imagine that? So it would use more fabric than you would think due to placement

    • @madebycathcraft
      @madebycathcraft  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Ogden cami isn’t cut on the bias, so that does make it a bit easier to squeeze it out of a small piece of fabric thankfully 😊
