Not to deflate him, but if we had more parents truly living a Catholic life in its entirety, I can only imagine what the Church Militant could be.
@kristinwannemuehler9757 I fully understand that catholic folk are lost. They don't have the indwelling Holy Ghost. Nor do they read the true scriptures ( King James Bible ).
Hebrews chapters 7-10 ( KJV ) clearly teach that temple worship and sacrifice along with the priesthood were abolished by the Lord Jesus Christ at Calvary. The catholic cult is pagan worship, as is the c of e and the other non biblical denominations. Read how the Lord Jesus Christ totally destroys the evil vatican institution ( along with all its followers ) in Revelation 17 & 18 KJV.

Beginning in the sixties, most Catholic schools stopped teaching the true faith. Sadly, now you're seeing the fruits of this reality.

In the NT Christ is a zamboni to us, a zamboni sibling to be more exact.
He paves the way and lights the path. When you're walking with Him, listening to Him He directs your peds.
He's always guiding us, trying to get us to hear Him, telling us not to go to a certain place, not to engage in a certain activity, or, conversely, to do a particular good in the world, or to even just to turn left instead of right when we're taking a drive.
You're right, parents and educators do need to help us to be resilient, to learn how to think critically, to problem solve, and how to be disciples. But, too, we need to recognize that we can only do it correctly, in a healthy mindset, when we learn the difference between the OT Yahweh and the NT Christ. They are two totally different approaches to life and love.
You are a star, Michael Schmitz. Not one of the demon ones--as listed in mythology and/or as recorded within the extraneous documents that explain a number of characters in the Bible--but, a shiny one, of merit, heart, and universal goodness.
I'm not saying your mom was wrong, but she was wrong. You are not a flection of light like Satan (Yah, a moon deity), you are a light like Christ. You are made of light- a star from His star, a light of His light.

Catholic school not advanced enough for my daughter. However, school not expensive. Good deal for most families.
Fr. Mike illustrates why we need school choice and for tax dollars to follow the students, not to automatically go to the public schools, many of which are failing.
The government should not be providing schools or funding them. It's best to homeschool.

Of course there are “helicopter” parents; but I have found it to be a term used against parents who are actually parenting.
Sorry, Father, but your explanation of what schools often label parents missed the mark for me. It is largely used by educators and administrators to shame the student (that their parent would “get involved”) AND the parent to get them to concede their God given responsibility in their child’s education.
We’d better be “giving our kids Jesus” and making them saints in our Catholic schools because the academics are hard aligning to the oh-so-common standards.

Hi Father Mike- I was wondering what the Church has done to protect children from being harmed by priests?
As you probably know hundreds of priests have been convicted of child abuse just in the Los Angeles area between 1990-2020.
Can you address why the Pope has allowed these assaults to continue?

First we need to acknowledge who is abusing the kids. Mostly boys. These people infiltrated the priesthood. You have to accept this truth. Otherwise nothing can be done.

You are Peter and on this Rock I will build my Church. The laity are not the clergy. The apostles are different from the disciples. Calling a priest a spiritual father is not what's being brought into question in that scripture passage.

Another lost playboy. By the way, no one can ' make ' a disciple. The true scriptures say ' teach all nations ' ( Matthew 29 : 19 King James Bible ). A Spirit filled, obedient servant of the Lord Jesus Christ is a disciple.
