So this episode really got me thinking. You said many times that ESIC needs money. Do they have something like a fundraiser / crowdfuning something, where people can throw in some extra bucks?
Quick math: you got 115k subs, if only 10% of them throw in 10 bucks a year, that equals 115k a year.
I don't know if that's just another drop on the hot stone, I can't be the only one thinking about something like this...We would need people like you, Richard Lewis and Duncan Shields to promote that. I'm sure there's a lot of silent viewers who would support ESIC. Cheers for all the good work guys, I will also be on the patreon list again soon!

In I think 2013 Thorin & RL on Unfiltered #34 said in regards to the 100K csgo iem tournament that Valve at no point helped CSGO and the tournament was a victory for the community opposed to TO’s or Valve. Years later this could be seen in the uphill battle every step of the way the community had to first have a proper major then the prize pool issues that were so well done in the Internationals for Dota but CSGO remained neglected despite showing how viable a platform it was with excellent tournaments and structure. It’s really interesting seeing the continuation of these concepts over half a decade later

It all reminds me of professional road cycling. A couple of people ruined the entire sport for everyone. It´s a complete joke. Lance Armstrong retired and came back for one last tour de france, and he took the spot of someone else in his new team. So that guy he replaced reported all the skeletons in the closet to a journalist called David Welsh. What happened? People attacked David Welsh. Not Lance Armstrong.
Why are people like this. Why are they so invested in "their" team or "their" player that they refuse to believe they would cheat and attack anyone who points the cheater´s wrongdoings out.
Thank both of you for keeping up with this nonsense for so long. You are rare breed of journalists that we desperately need more of. Not only in esports.

If some valve employee is reading this. I want you to fucking know csgo is the only esports I follow and it’s because of these two beautiful bastards. The last profesional match I watched was the last csgo major. But I still watch this podcast religiously. So pay these two men their respect, because if it weren’t for them. I wouldn’t give a fuck about the scene

Wasn't that basically TI8 OG? From open quals to TI? TI9 was different, people then knew they were built different, but TI 8 really was three major winners (presumed to be past their prime), a coach ( a major winning coach), a manager and one true random plucked from solo que - who turned out to be the biggest giga chad mid player.

I think for the remainder of online CS, TO's should require a camera placed in the corner of a room that has an un-onstructed view of everything and everyone in the room and that the only people present are only the players and the coach. The coach should be seated in a fixed position behind the team. If players are playing in separate locations, each player and coach should set up a camera in the room with a view of everything. Maybe place it on the ceiling or something. That way, you have overwatch of everything throughout the match. If a team is caught stream sniping, talking to coach during the game when they shouldnt be EVERYONE involved, players, coach, the team itself is fined 5k for the first offense and every subsequent infraction is another 5k on top of it. If these cunts want to cheat for an extra grand, they best be fucking good at it because when that 10k fine hits your pocket your cunts gonna quiver and if everyone on a team knows that theyre going to be punished regardless if theyre the perpetrator of the offense, theyre going to keep the others in line and we wont have this bullshit argument of "WeLl We DiDnT kNoW oUr CoAcH, tHe GuY wE sPeNd EvErY dAy WiTh WaS gEtTiNg InFo IlLeGaLlY!"

The only thing I disagree with here, and I'm nitpicking because it's not the core issue; is the protest of the chosen time of the strike action. If the strike had been motivated by a valid cause, which it obviously was not seeing as the teams it supposedly was benefiting had not been reached out to for consultation or consent and objected to it, then striking in prime time would have been valid. A strike achieves nothing if its ignorable. It's like people who lament protesters for protesting on busy roads or whatever. If you strike somewhere out of the way, on a university campus somewhere where no one notices because it doesn't inconvenience them then your strike achieves fuck all. A strike needs by definition to be obstrusive, to be obnoxious. But anyway it's a moot point given that the CSSPA are a corrupt and morally bankrupt organization

I've played counterstrike on an off since 1.2 got good in 1.3 was made sad by 1.6 couldnt run source properly and have decided at the age toward 40 that alas my chance at a professional player maybe a little low due to the reality that I'm a bit shit. Unions when not controlled by sociopaths are good thing when they are not then you get this bullshit. I have started watching CS:GO games since lockdown and this just seems like the meme with the dog drinking coffee in a burning house whilst saying "this is fine". Simply put it isnt and the problem is that we can't fan boy this its too important. You need a governing body to call out bullshit because just look as ESA Pokemon go with a non monatised slot machine bad, NBA with a litteral roulette wheel which you buy credits to play absolutely fine nothing wrong. Teams and T/O's cannot govern themselves ESIC are a required to keep them on the right path and well said Richard and Thorin for calling out the bullshit a voice of sanity in an insane world.
