honestly i prefer giving 60 bucks to a single developer for a really good game than a company that takes years for garbage, plus the single developer actually listens to their community
Shadows of Doubt is a game I didn’t know about until I was scrolling through steam’s open world section. It looked interesting but I didn’t expect anything from it I then proceeded to be unable to complete the tutorial murder which made me happy because it was then I knew I underestimated the game and it would be an actual challenge Then I found out it was procedurally generated and essentially infinite
Also it should be known that this game has great music. Very atmospheric. I look forward to the devs HOPEFULLY spending A LOT of time refining the AI and deveoping new system.s
I totally agree, the music is awesome, the game's ambience makes me feel like I'm in a Blade Runner, cyberpunk universe. I *REALLY* hope they do an update or another Shows of Doubt 2, set in a Blade Runner world, the graphics and music are so suited to that enviroment.
I have another beginners tip:" At your first play:" Deactivate generated murder cases" and just do side cases. So you can get warm with the mechanics, have cases, that aren't big and can first concentrate on easier things. than, when you get warm and understood the how to you can go to the murder cases.
Further tip: do this until you can afford to own and furnish your first apartment. Sure it'll probably be a really tiny basement apartment but it's important to have a base with consistent facilities. Your most important items are: - Bed (for sleep and passage of time) - Shower (for cleanliness) - Towel (you need to dry yourself off) - Toilet (to throw up if you eat synth anything) - City Directory (yes you can buy this) - Case Tray (yes you can also buy this) Other things you can use your stinky roach-filled apartment for: - Sell items (that pawn shop dealer is either there regularly, never there, or missing for some reason) - Store items (I recommend getting this for reusable items like cameras)
Another beginners tip, if you cant afford an apartment, you can sleep for free in the City Hall's infirmary without dying by just walking in, laying down, and going to sleep in one of the patient beds.
Good video! They need to add some gunplay to the game bc a detective getting into a shootout was a crucial part of the genre. It shouldn't be the main focus of the game but it should be there.
it's actually kind of written into the game already that your character has sworn off the use of firearms after his time in the police (enforcers?) in like one of the tutorial bits about combat. you *can* still use guns, but only as melee weapons. honestly, as cool as that sounds, I kind of wish we could use firearms. Maybe the dev could make not using guns a part of the difficulty settings?
I've not heard of this game before, but it looks interesting. I'll definitely look into this! Also kudos on the video quality, it's much improved since your Shadow of War days, keep at it!
Good job, thank you *AV96* *:)* I like this game a lot, but it's quite difficult to get into. I tried playing but there are so many aspects that arn't addressed by the tutorial. It would be really helpful to have a beginners tutorial from the point you're thrown into the game, explaining the mechanics as you go along.
Thanks. I've owned the game for over a year and get overwhelmed every the I try to play. I get lost immediately and can't find my way around the damn city lol
At around 7:55 you mention being able to scan any object in the inventory for finger prints. Can you explain how? I'm trying to scan things and can't figure it out.
Do they have tracking devices in the game? By the looks of it there's no driving but it would be cool to place a tracking device on someone's car or in their pocket to see where they go
@@keeganmc0073 After looking at more gameplay, I doubt there's much use for it. Generally you can find out where a person lives and works quite easily without it.
I've only solved the tutorial case and I cant solve the proc gen ones 😒 I love the idea of the game though so I will continue to bash my head against this game till I become a grizzled alcoholic private eye that beats unconscious everyone that seems even remotely suspicious (or not) and ransacks their apartment... Well even more so than I already am that is.
I'm having a hard time identifying people, like I'll have a face but then I can't find anything else or I've got a fingerprint but no other leads?? Do you have tips for how to identify and find people?
If you have a face ask people around maybe you can find their partner or a neighbor that can tell you a name or that they have seen in a building where they live, if you have fingerprints look at the workplace of the victim, doors, lockers, computers, pictures of the workers, if you dont have any more leads you can always wait for another victim and check the cameras
This wasn't at all helpful really. You talked about what the game already tells you. How about showing us how to find the black market or the sync beds?
It's sad, but also beautiful how much more effort and love Indie developers put into their games compared to AAA developers nowadays...

@@The.Pickle Don't talk about a sequel until they get this one down :) It's on a good path so far.

YESSS! I was constantly overwhelmed with all the NEW MURDER alerts, like man I'm just trying to take a picture of someone lol ❤
nice guide, but try maximizing the audio in your editing software for the next video if you can, I had to boost the audio to like 700% lol
me too
When an ad comes up, it blasts me up to high heavens

Thanks for the tutorial been trying to get into this game but it’s difficult
Yeah, I agree. I love it, but I found it quite difficult to get into because there isn't much in the tutorial, so it's quite confusing.
Just got this game. Super fun but kinda hard. Although I love the difficulty.

You should have gone over filing the sheet with city hall. How the hell do you check off you arrested the murderer when they’re in handcuffs?
It should do so automatically.
Thank you for the guide

yes, I haven’t seen it yet but it’s called a bloodhound tracker. it’s pretty much an apple airtag you can put on a person to watch them

Good guide, but it'd be infinitely better if what you narrated matched what was going on on the screen.
Hardest ones are Joe or Jane Doe cases with no weapons or prints on the crime scene.
how am i supposed the find someone with only the knowledge of their fingerprint and building or hair color and build though
You can but it takes a long time
I couldn't figure out how to actually scan an item in my inventory for fingerprints.
Press x and click your item then press scan

Is there an overarching plot to the game, or is it just do jobs, solve murders, buy a new place etc.? Is there an endgame?
No endgame, just keep solving crimes. If you do get bored, create a new game and start fresh with a new city
If I get a murder case what do I do?
It says I got it but I dont know how to find it
I cant get a murder case
