    Robert Greene is one of the greatest thinkers in the human history. I've to say that he is the truly modern Junzi (Ideal Man), who fully understands humanity's dark traits but doesn't allow himself to be dominated by his own dark traits. Instead, knowing humanity's dark traits only further enhance his wisdom, morality and integrity. Not only using his knowledge to save himself from bad people's tactics, he also thinks of educating and guiding the mass to be aware of people's dark intentions and traits, which are often concealed carefully, so that we don't fall in to their trap. In doing so, he truly becomes a bodhisattva, one who helps the world become a better place. I wish health, prosperity and happiness to him and his partner.

      Glasshouse is correct. You have to elevate your level of thinking from the literal to the analogical. Lessons on strategic thinking are applicable throughout life. Also, you don't need to agree w a thing to learn from it. Sometimes knowing how others operate is enough to give you an edge.

    For everyone commenting about how Robert Greene knows nothing about social dynamics or w/e compared to Julien please stfu and do your homework. Robert is a legend. He has not only written multiple best selling books about human nature, he is also extremely wise/experienced. There is no need to compare the two. Just sit back and soak in the good information.

    Wow. What he says about getting rid of your illusions about other people is true. To myself I was watching him and noticed that he kind of slouches and I started wondering how healthy he really is and started speculating on my own. Until 45 minutes in when he said he had a stroke and barely used the left side of his body. I actually immediately paused and wrote this comment. There is probably so many of those judgements we put on other people in our daily lives that we don’t even notice.

    I'll be honest this is bringing back a lot of old feelings. Lots of sadness, anger, and resentment. I been doing some thinking after watching this and yeah I do agree most of the experiences from friendships, relationships, family, work partners, etc; does shape how u are. Trauma can be a tricky process to go through because it still haunts you. I dealt with loneliness for a long time simply because I hated people. But i'm not going to let that hate fuel me anymore and I plan to overcome it. Even right now as I write this I can feel that hate coming up but i rather understand and learn from it.

      @rastados2 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@christianblackburn7249 I'm not sure what you mean by "enforced monogamy". I only heard him once mention that it would be beneficial in the long run to have a single partner as a means to psychological growth and for the benefit of the offspring. I don't see this clashing with RSD, they don't "enforce" polygamy if what you are after is a long term partner. They just tell you how to achieve that. Also Peterson mentions repeatedly the evolutionary fact that high value individuals have greater choice and diversity of sexual partners. I don't see any contradictions between RSD and Jordan Peterson, in fact, Julien himself has given a nod more than once to JBP. Hope to see the two of them sitting down for a chat sometime soon.

    Look at being excluded as a positive thing. I have more time to focus on myself. I have this problem where I always feel like I’m being left out, or excluded, or missing out. When I put my life on hold to be available for those things I feel like I’m missing, it always plays out the same: I literally watch the day go by, and all possible things I could have gotten done don’t. And I know the whole time how it’s gonna work out, but do it anyway, then it does, and I feel like shit. . So I try to tell myself that since all those people and experiences you’re trying to line up with are methodically dodging you, then don’t do that to your self. When I use that as my excuse to not miss the gym, or eat bad, it’s AMAZING how many people try to get you to falter, or then tell you ‘it’s ok, you can skip X...’

    It's crazy because Robert Greene is clearly a genius, and his reputation should be respected. But RSD is just so much further ahead in regards to social dynamics than even some of the smartest most respected authors and scientists who have studied this on a professional level. It's just funny bc Robert will say something that he believes to be so profound that he realized on his own, but RSD has already come to this conclusion years ago and has fleshed out and articulated 100X further than Robert has.
    The reason being is that they have practiced these things in the field they have deep level understanding from doing not thinking. RSD is years ahead in this field, it's such a shame that so few people even know this knowledge, it is seriously so ahead of it's time. You can see Julien just listening kind of thinking I know some of these concepts on such a deeper level, but I want to hear you say it Robert bc I respect you. Just amazing.

    It's true. We don't really know the people around us. Of course, they don't really know us either. I mean, if you try to do some self-improvement or personal development that can be read by others as being self-absorbed or selfish because they've gotten used to seeing you a certain way, so much so that when you change things in your life that affect them, this can make them feel very angry and lead to them lashing out by calling you selfish or self-absorbed.
