    Changed out my old Honeywell for the TH6, changed adapter plates as the pin out is different and plugged in the head and the screen never came on. Suspect that I have a bad unit, did your screen come on right away or did it take some time to initialize? I checked the red or power wire and I have 28V AC, re-installed the old unit and it works, just the new one does not come on.

    Anyone know how to change the battery on this thermostat

  • @randyzahirudin7834

    Do you need a C wire to use this thermostat? I am trying to change mine to one of the new thermostats but requires a C wire for power which I don't have.

    Thanks for your video. Can I replace the existing Honeywell standard digital thermostat to Honeywell Home T5 Smart Touchscreen Thermostat the same way ? Or it only works for T6 pro

    This was the only Yt where I understood my thermostat didn’t have Wi-Fi and had to buy a new one. All others didn’t. Great video, thanks!

    It pushes right on but how about to remove it from the wall? I'm worried about breaking it if I just pull it off

    Whatever you do, do not get rid of the old thermostats. I've installed three of these in my house and had to replace 2 of them because they just stop working. On stopped after a year and the other stopped after 2 years.

    Hi what if the unit is already set up for an account and it won’t let you create a new one

    • @AlbanyCountyFasteners
      @AlbanyCountyFasteners  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You will need to do a hard reset to the unit.

    • @ezekbruh820

      @@AlbanyCountyFasteners what steps do I take ? Cuz I reset it to factory but still says it already has an account.

    • @AlbanyCountyFasteners
      @AlbanyCountyFasteners  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Reset includes removing the battery. If this does not work contact the manufacture.

    My 1st Lyric T6 quit working. The display wouldn't respond to touching the surface.
    I bought a new one and the grief began.
    I turned the old one off and plugged the new one in.
    It went to setup mode.
    I followed the directions. Here is where the problem started.
    It told me to put my phone in airplane mode and go to the setting on the phone and find
    the Lyric icon on the wifi and tap on it.
    Since I had the phone in airplane mode you could not see any wifi devices.
    I went round and round but gave up. This is the 2nd time I tried to make it work.
    Honeywell needs to re-program the install setting to make this thing more intuitive.
    I put the old one back in. At least I can control my HVAC system.

    The video didn't show how to remove the thermostat from the mounting plate. I figured it out because I'm a handyman. I'm certain this was a perplexing step for many people. Also the video said it will save the time. It did not. As soon as I put it back on the wall plate it asked me to set the time and date. There were no instructions on how to do it and it was difficult to find, believe it or not. But I eventually did.

    • @sbearly

      Thanks for telling us you figured it out. And thanks for keeping it a secret.

    • @jerryviviano5062
      @jerryviviano5062 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sbearly Sorry about that. It turns out that it's pretty straightforward. Grab it by the sides and pull one side of the thermostat away from the wall. It will eventually pop out. Once one side is out, pull the other side out. No screws involved. It mounts to a wall plate which is securely attached to the wall.

    • @sbearly
      @sbearly หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jerryviviano5062 Right, I figured it out like you did (well, there's no screws, no push-to-release tabs, maybe I just have to pull harder). 😉

    • @jerryviviano5062
      @jerryviviano5062 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sbearly That's all I did. Pull harder. Mainly on one side first, till that side pops out. Then the other side comes out much easier.

    Do not buy this thermostat. It no longer works with apple home. But, I did receive an email requesting that I allow the government to take control of my thermostat via an "incentive" program. Big brother is here!
