There were no official fireworks shows in my area of Tompkins County, NY...but I could hear fireworks going off well after midnight on the 4th of July from my apt in downtown Ithaca.
The businesses should not sell to those from out of state. They're checking IDs, right? So why are they selling to people who live in states where it's illegal.
There’s no law in Pennsylvania that restricts firework stores from selling fireworks to out of state residents so of course they’re gonna cater to them because that’s more business for them. The reason why they check ID is because they have the residents sign a liability waiver stating that you can’t sue the firework store if you transport them into New York City and get caught or if you misuse the fireworks and get hurt
I like fireworks. I am from the Netherlands, and here they have the same problem. Many people buy fireworks illegally from nearby countries such as Poland, Belgium, and Germany. Nobody cares about the law except the police and some nagging people.
My backyard????? The noise can be heard everywhere!!!!!! Your rights end where someone else's start. People have the right to sleep and rest before having to get up early to work in the morning

NYC enforcing laws in PA? Sounds like a jurisdictional breach to me.
