For most circumstances I use natural color and medium sharpness. If I want the most cinematic video then I go with flat color and grade it to my liking. Great video.

I used natural colors so far, but I've turned around and started using flat instead. Since I film outdoors (camping, hiking etc) I want it to look as natural as possible, but I've found the filming in flat and adding saturation + contrast in post still gives it those natural colors, but also those natural and soft shadows that the Gopro blacks out in its natural color setting.
Regarding sharpness I'm divided, though - normally I'm using medium, but high sharpness can also save a lot of those fun details in nature or in the background that you would be able to point out it you were there looking in person.

That’s interesting, I typically never leave medium however but always room to experiment! And I agree, flat is good for bringing out the shadows and making it look quite natural

@@GlenCairnsVideoProductions I have yet to try it, I gotta admit, but judging from your video here flat and high looks pretty good. I gotta go head out one of these days to "play&try" a bit.
But yes, like you say, flat can make it look natural, since the softness stays in the picture. My theory with high sharpness, is that high will also save the details to make it look "natural" since you could pause the video and focus your eyes on the background and see more of the kind of details you would in real life. As I said, gotta try it though, and I'm no expert in cameras or picture composition😅

Flat and low for me, 4k24fps with 32ND filter. Then colour grade in post.

Thanks for the video. I recently purchased the new gopro 10 and I'm barely in the beginning stages of changing settings. This video is helpful! Flat does look nice!
