It's music like this that really makes the old games come to life. Composers really understood how important it was to make great music for games back then. I wish music had the same type of emphasis on more games these days. Graphics, voices and sound effects are one thing but game design with the right music is what sets games like One Must Fall 2097 so far ahead of any game made today and designers really need to take a leaf out of the book of these creators to make something that influences the future of the human race. I tip my hat to Designer Rob Elam, Sound Designer Joshua Jensen and Composer Kenny Chou for One Must Fall 2097. Thank you!
The music is what makes the new DOOM so good, too! The gameplay is amazing - it's fast, furious and bloody, and although it feels new it also feels like DOOM. But it's the soundtrack which really pumps you up.
Well, game songs were like that because they needed to. They didn't have the hardware to work with a lot of instruments at the same time or the funds to record a band playing, so they had to make the music as interesting and as catchy as they could.
Yeah, many new games have lousy ambientish background music (just like movies). 70s 80s and 90s were the best times for movies and video gaming, period.
Apple making giant mechs? I doubt it, since they have resorted in selling low grade tech at same price as high tech products with the brand of Apple. As far as I know, Apple never did create anything new, since the tech they've created were already created elsewhere. The trick to sell the brand with inferior tech is also not a invention by them...

i grew up playing this game. i had some shity '91 toshiba computer that could bearly handly DOS graphics, but it was enough for me to play this game all day and all night. there is no better game, there is no better song, than ONE MUST FALL 2097! THIS GAME IS FUCKING BOSS!

I'm pretty sure the Jaguar was medium tiered bot if I recall. It definitely wasn't the best. But it was very much the easiest to use that's for damn sure. Even noobs could pull out some pretty epic moves with a Jaguar. I think the crappiest robot was the Nova if I recall. I remember the one with spikes on his arms being the best, pretty sure the shredder was considered the strongest robot in the game though.

They actually did remake it, but it was nothing compared to this. Don't get me wrong, the new OMF is cool, but it's a bit of a different game in itself. OMF-2097 is just a classic in it's own category that can not be replicated.
down, down, up + punch te release an shadow that will hold the enemy. you could counter with a roundhouse kick that would send both shadow and the shadow mech flying very satisfying to send him into the electrifying bars - as in a big fu.. not today.. the epic intro music could only prepare you so much for this epic satisfying game good times
