- Pine Ridge Recreation Area and Dry Fork Rec Area within the Mark Twain National Forest are almost in the Suburbs... So I set out to explore both along with another more primitive site (that I chose not to stay). Both sites set along the Cedar Creek Trail. A trail system near Columbia and Jefferson City Missouri that traverses 36 miles. A future video will visit the surprising Devil's Backbone and a couple decrepit but interesting old bridges AND the Capitol. I had to edit out the tick scene as ytube gave me a warning... Great video, love Mark Twain NF. Vast area with many dispersed areas to camp, many close to civilization as you mentioned.
It’s great to get away from everything but also sometimes nice to be near the conveniences. I’d say we are a spoiled species!
