You'd be surprised, when you're deep into benzo addiction, you've gotta pop em like Tic Tacs just to feel normal. I was up to about 40mg of Xanax a day and I could walk over to the grocery store or visit a friend. What's more inaccurate is that the withdrawal in Sona definitely would have killed him. Cold turkey from years of heavy benzo use? The seizures would have taken him out by the second day.
I guess the idea was he got through the benzo withdrawal by replacing it with heroin and then kicking the safer of the 2. I don't think heroin would do anything for the seizure risk as it effects different receptors but it'd certainly make you feel a lot better.
@@bobtwo3948 Yeah, heroin would help with the anxiety and hallucinations, and I suppose the inevitable diarrhea, but his GABA receptors would still be firing like crazy and seizures would be inevitable. I actually remember being on fentanyl while going through alcohol withdrawal and it was very odd, because usually with alcohol withdrawal, the worst part is the anxiety and I felt content, but I still had the shakes. Bizarre combo. So he'd at least have gone out peacefully. A better bet would be to see if he could get some Quaaludes or barbiturates -- the original dealer said he didn't have benzos, but he may have had those.
