Just saw Evan play solo in Tampa last week at Crowbar in Ybor City. He was awesome and even got to chat with him briefly after the gig. What a sweet man and a gentleman.
I know Evan's tough to follow, but he says some great stuff. Pronoia - The idea that people are secretly doing stuff behind your back for your benefit. He also once said, "Surely the universe is unfolding as it should." I love that.

I was walking but the streets and saw a paper on a streetlight announcing a concert in a small hall that night... I enjoyed it! What a coincidence to see one my real heroes of my life there! Anyway, nice video and nice to see him again after a while...
I love Evan and have done for the majority of my life. His music has been the soundtrack to my life and major landmarks in it. I've always defended him and he has always somehow, even at his lowest point, sounded great. This is the first thing I've seen which has really worried me. Please don't waste what you have left Evan. Its never too late until it is and its "last orders at the bar".

I love Evan, but I'm gonna be brutally honest here, he looks greasy & dirty & unkempt- he wasn't even this grungy back when grunge was cool- and the rambling thoughts & the cadence of his speech & vocal inflections remind me very much of ppl I've known who were deep in the throes of alcohol addiction- "wetbrain," they call it. I can't really watch or listen to the present incarnation of Evan unfortunately, Just listen to the old CDs and remember how good he was and keep the good memories. After seeing and hearing a lot of musicians in this state , its not long after you hear the bad news. I think you know what I'm saying. Hope its not too late.♥

Sucks that for many ppl it gets a hold on, it never really lets go- they just spend their whole life going back & forth between mostly using & getting just st a little bit of clean time in between relapses (for me it was H- I'm not sure what it is for him, maybe multiple things, who knows.) But this back & forth seems to be the way it's gone for Evan, which makes me really sad- As well as reminds me how blessed & grateful I am to have fully escaped.💜

Drugs played a huge part. It's amazing that he's still alive given the amount of drugs he's taken. Good thing he got the genes of a god, because he still looks quite handsome in my opinion. But he looks about ten years older than he is, and his brain is completely fried. His voice can't really hold up anymore either. It's quite sad. Still got to respect the man for the amazing songs he's written though.
Thats one way of looking at it brother, he honestly came very close to creating an LP that is so dreamlike, in it's lyrics, sound and just the whole feel of it... I honestly think Evan is seriously underrated as far as melody writing, lots of little beatle-sy chord progressions... David Gilmour was once asked what song he wish he wrote "my drug buddy".. And Gilmours an ass so thats a hell of a compliment! But you can hear it here with Evan hes just so hard to get going so he can make some dollars!! He sounds cracked or methed here (no judgement but its fairly apparent.. Or else hes completely clean and white knuckling.. Got to see him live in Dublin a few yrs back playing "its a shame" the whole way through.. Hes a surprisingly good player! They like it loud! His poor head just seems to go a mile a minute... I cant imagine being in a group with him put it like that! But thats cos id be just as fooked 😂.. Ik this sounds weird but that" good looking list" he appeared on in the 90s just when his music was hitting... Dont get me wrong a handsome son of a bitch but that would've been the last thing he wanted at that stage.. In the post Nirvana 90s fear of selling a few copies! I remember he turned up to the awards (an absolute write-off😂) as his "protest" BUT he also missed a gig that night too... That would've been more of a protest! 😂 Dont care still love jamming to them. 👍
