- Changing the Guard at Buckingham Palace on Thursday 7th July 2022 featuring the following:
Central Band of the Royal Air Force
Queen's Colour Squadron of the Royal Air Force
Band of The Irish Guards
F Company Scots Guards
Also added footage of a horse drawn carriage that made a couple of appearances during the morning. If anyone can give more information on it I would be grateful.
I enjoyed the high standard performances of both bands with their contrasting styles and sounds. I really enjoyed the Irish Guards playing of the Rhythm of the Line march. All sections blended so well, and the trombones were well behaved and most effective. Aussie trom.
Fantastic video! As usual!
The marches played were,
(Central Band of the RAF)
1) 2:00-Standard of St George
2) 4:44-National Emblem
3) 7:57-Voice of the Guns
(Band of the Irish Guards)
4) 9:31-Rhythm of the Line
5) 12:41-Kerry March
(Band of the Irish Guards)
6) 17:21-Slattery's Mounted Fut
7) 17:51-The Liberators
8) 20:40-Carry On
Thank you for your assistance again Delvin, greatly appreciated as always.
@@MrBaton74 You're very welcome! It's my pleasure!
Never heard Rhythm of the Line before - lovely march and makes a nice change
@@clivehughes2179I agree! It's a spiffing march!
I’ve been searching for the first march for ages because they played it during the armed forces day parade i took part in with rm cadets so cheers for that mate
As an American, I love the National Emblem March...they did a great job!
Me gustan las marchas.porqwe yo fui militar de cd.de mexico.
The air force marched quicker and sharper than the army. That's not supposed to happen. What is going on?😂😂😂😂😂😂
Sorry what’s the national emblem March? I served 15 years in the British army, not once did i ever here of this March
@@dennismills6887 A US march that is described as "a firm favorite" in the UK.
Fantastic. Thanks for following the bands the full length of the March. And for focusing on the awesome trombones most of the time!
Thank you really enjoyed watching this. My Father and Grandfather both served in the Brigade of Guards and our eldest son has served in the RAF for 20 years.
Excellent band! Was great to hear the National Emblem March. 🇺🇸❤️🇬🇧
I was in the RAF for a short while until I got orders sending me to training as a 'Cook OR Teleprinter Operator' when I really wanted Photographer or Medical Work -- both 27 years to sign on for in RAF' so I went to The Army and they said if I signed on for 3 years as Short Term 'Regular' I could get MEDICAL Work so I became an ARMY MEDIC --- that was 1955 !
Brings back memories of my 15 yrs in Welsh guards corpse of drums.
You might wanna edit your comment!! 😵
@@Flappatackle why exactly??
@@ianwoods383 Because your comment wrote "corpse" of drums instead of "corps" of drums, sir.
@@namaewanein3630 bloody predictive text 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
were you dead good?
7:50 Voice of the guns, Kenneth Alford, one of my favourite military marches
Was in London in '68 with US Navy & changing of the guard was one of my favorite sights. Still enjoy watching this
Excellent video, thank you
Excellent video, thank you!
Magnificent! Proud to be British, keeping in step and playing an instrument,Brilliant
A lady drum-major. Nice. Usually we only see this in the Kenyan martial bands.
I see the drum major is a lady. That's wonderful That's my service. I was in the RAF 1960 to1970
The Bands of the HM Royal Marines also have just appointed their first lady Drum Major.
The Drum Major is also a very accomplished
musician who also plays within the band. (Flautist I believe)
Thank you. So brilliant!
Brit's did a good job playing John Phillips Sousa.
I think that the carriage looks like it is part of the ceremony of the presentation of credentials of an ambassador to HM The Queen.
Court Circular: July 7, 2022
His Excellency Mr Ulan Djusupov was received in audience by Her Majesty today via video link and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Kyrgyz Republic to the Court of St James’s.
Mrs Djusupova was also received by The Queen.
Thank you both for explaining what was going on, appreciate it.
Very often when you see carriages on the mall it’s training new horses to cope with both the crowds and carriages aswell.
Deseo volver pronto a Londres . Es mi gran ilusión.
The Band Conductor should always be at the back of the band technically behind the bass trumpet so in concert formation it’s easier for them to get into position with the drum major in front
This American marching band musician of 66 years believes the British Armed Forces bands are top-rate!
Vídeo muito bem feito. Excelente. Obrigado.
Their dressing was exceptional... hand for exNavy to say.
don’t be fooled by the clouds in the sky. July was a heatwave with temps hitting 40°C in places and abnormally little rainfall throughout that year
Quite brilliant but don't look at the trombones- it only encourages them? however well done lads> Excellent!
Dear overopen, having been a bass trombonist, I never needed any encouragement. The RAF trombone section warmed to the task on this day. I enjoyed the crisp playing of their bass trombonist and the tubas and euphonium. Many thanks for this great video. The military bands have sadly been drasticaly reduced in our beautiful Australia.
@@geofftownsend345 One thing they can't take from you is your 'Australian Character' Well done you, and all true Aussies.
Good exercise
Mullarkey 100. Believe me when I say they are there for purpose.
No sign of the QCS? What a relief….
Sure looks similar to the one I saw back in last centuary in 1992! What happened to those guards with pointed metal helmet on horse back stationed in those gate/doorway just to the edge of the camera's point of view???
That will be the Household Cavalry, they guard just a bit further down the road at horse guards parade.
What’s with the pony tail?
Fantastic & dreamy parade!

UK bands always play classic US marches (like National Emblem) but we never hear US bands playing classic British marches ....
Just saying.
But Crab Air Band are always on point and their Colour Squadron are as good any Household Division mob.
I agree US Military Bands should play more British marches. I've only heard "The President's Own" Marine Band play "Army of the Nile". Although, the US military Bands don't have as many ceremonial duties or barely non at all as the British Military Bands have. Which is sad.
They’ve played Eagle Squadron
Just sayin’, you are wrong. Alford’s Standard of St. George and Colonel Bogey are just two marches that get great play by American bands. Then, of course, there’s Pomp and Circumstance.
@@BandBoxParade Pomp & Circumstance? They may have been entitled the 5 Marches etc but I have never heard any military band playing any of them. In fact it would be impossible to march to march to No 1 for example as the tempo changes 3 times. While yes I have heard orchestras play 'Land of Hope & Glory' (The UKs unofficial anthem) especially at 'Last night of the proms' but on a parade square. Nope never happened.
@@1chish, oh, stop being picky. Bands all over the world play a portion of it for graduation marches. Not to mention this performance by the US Air Force tooters.

By the way, there’s the Garry Own March too.

why the people enjoy to follow band ? i guess its delicious for ours ears
Oh, they're letting women not bun up their hair now? Similar to the German army I suppose.
Yes looks very sloppy!
Agreed. Standards have to be maintained. What next, male soldiers allowed to have pigtails?
@@michaelthwaite3282 that has already happened. look at drawings/pictures of RN of old. Why do you think tha naval uniform looks like it does? so that the tarred pig-tail of the sailor would not mess up.
RAF Bandsmen wearing beards is also not a good look.
@@mikec9810 cry about it
Again all but one female has their hair I a bun which was part of dressing. Sorry but it looks out of place
The only regulation regarding women's hair is that it must be 'dressed above the collar' - I used to wear mine in a French pleat!
Or it could've fallen out of the bun she had it in and didn't notice it. Why so negative.

Please, base drum, play the accents as written.
The British forces have so many mish-mash uniforms. It's an accident just waiting to happen. When one group encounters another group and they open fire on each other because they've no idea who the other group is.
Parade Uniforms bit different than Combat Uniforms, days of the thin red line long gone.
看看英國皇室,
