I was 10 when I learned about parasitic worms and I would literally pray to the Christian God every night from atop my bunk bed to please never let me get tapeworms, roundworms, hookworms, etc. I also prayed to not get the Hanta virus, the Ebola virus, or for a centipede to crawl across me as I slept.

I've had worms before. They're particularly common in young children and pet owners. I have three dogs, two cats and I took care of a litter of stray kittens for the animal shelter so that's probably where I got them. Hell, I found out afterwards that my best friend and my sister's girlfriend both had them before me so I might have got it from hanging around them. They don't hurt and usually don't even itch but just the knowledge of having parasitic worms inside of you feels profoundly gross.. Here's a tip.. If you feel like there's squirming in your anus, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT, it isn't your imagination. It's worms.

You used to be able to buy tapeworm eggs from Russia that came in a "fecal slurry". They recommended you eat it on a salad. It wasn't fake. My sister was super desperate to lose weight the easy way but thankfully had second thoughts about intentionally eating that.

Well, there goes my reason to live.
My wife and I got a hotel room one weekend. It was amazing. We got all kinds of snacks from the vending machines, got blackout drunk at the hotel bar, and enjoyed a weekend away from the kids. Everything was going phenomenally until we checked out on sunday.
I had just loaded up the car, and turned in our room key, when my stomach began to gurgle. I told my wife i would meet her in the car, i just had to take the browns to the superbowl real quick. It was a pretty standard #2, until i stood up and turned to the toilet to flush. Thats when i saw it. A neon red worm was sticking out of my dookie, and swaying in the filthy toilet water.
My heart fluttered as i began to panic. "I have bright red worms inside of me!?" I exclaimed. I rushed out to the car and told my wife what had just transpired in that poor hotel lobby bathroom. She began to laugh hysterically at my predicament.
In my drunken stupor i had forgotten that i ate an entire bage of neon gummy worms from the vending machine. Apparently they were so delicious at the time, i didnt feel the need to chew them that well. Between that, and the beer shits, one of those poor gummy worms must have survived the trip through my digestive system.

I actually got these worms when I was really young (maybe 4?) after I played in sand that my dad used for construction work. Apparently I would do the sand equivalent of mud pies and eat them. Good thing my parents where the type to give me a check up every 6 months so the doctor quickly gave me some medicine and no trace of them where found in my next visit. As an adult, I still go to the doctor every six months and nothing has show up. So, don't eat shit from the ground, wash your hands, and get to know your partner before getting funcky with them and you will be fine.

Had them as a kid too. The itching was insane. Was sitting on the throne when I noticed something moving in the pants around my ankles. Tiny white wriggling nightmares.
After a shrill high pitched "MOOOM!" it was fortunately quickly dealt with.

TBH it's kinda misinformation I know he's just trying to be gross and funny, but IMO it's a little irresponsible.
1. I can't find any official source on "almost 100% of people will have pinworms at some time in their life", this is probably exaggeration - the only source for that, which Whang didn't say, was that some dude - who claimed to be a med student - said it in the Reddit thread, but nothing out there backs this guy up, so even if he is a med student, it's suspect. Especially when the guy started making fun of people for being grossed out by it.
2. The vast majority of cases are of young children between 5-10 years old - it may be true that most people "have them at some time in their life", but for anyone commenting, if you ever DID have pin worms, it was a very long time ago, very mild (you didn't notice), and it cleared up on its own (the worms die out after 13 weeks, and hand washing is enough to break the cycle of reinfection)
3. Pinworms usually cause itching around the anus that gets more intense at night, the odd itchiness at your backdoor is probably not a sign of pinworms.
4. If you're an adult, are not institutionalized, do not have young children at home, don't work around children, and regularly wash your hands, it's pretty rare for to have pinworms.

Dear fucking God, thank you for this. Just watched the video and that last stat almost gave me a panic attack.
Yeah among adults, the likelihood of catching them is fairly low. Among children, it depends on where you are. I think maybe in India it’s like a 60% prevalence? Though basically if you’re in the Western world and have a worm, it’s most likely going to be pinworms. And I mean if you had to be infected with a worm, it’s best to get these because they can’t burrow into your organs or get into your muscles or leave you with skin itching that makes you wanna die or hang out in your lungs or clog up your lymph ducts.
These guys are just filthy and irritating.
Last year I was working with little kids, primarily in the “snot gremlin” age range (and I say that with all the love and affection in the world) so I was washing my hands many, many times a day, but I was mostly thinking about the flu and covid and stuff. I’m very glad that I wasn’t thinking about worms because that would have made me extremely paranoid for multiple weeks. Now that I’m not around preschoolers 4 days a week I choose to believe that I’m out of the “could get worms” risk group

I love entomology and that includes parasites. I saw this video in my subscriptions while I was eating though, and I'm actually very glad I chose to watch it much later.
I still wanna know what happened to that one guy from reddit that was talking about how he has what was basically a fetish for being infested with all sorts of parasites, them being his children, spreading them to other people, etc. That story still regularly pops up in my head at the most random of times.

A lot of times babies and young kids HAVE to be demwormed because they end up with worms at some point(They are indeed threadworms). Kind of like how baby animals do. Just something to note. Whang, a lot of videos of yours I have watched so far. I consider myself a veteran at this point. Not only to your channel, but to disturbing internet content in general. I too, have started way too early to indulge in this type of content. For some weird reason, even though there are plenty of WAY more horrifying stories out there, the assworms, as of today, have broken me.
I barely flinched during Blowfly Girl, actually found myself getting sad for the poor girl because I could recognise some things about myself in her blog posts, I laughed at the ridiculousness and because of how disgusting the swamps of Dagobah story was, I cringed at the fetus story..this? I have been on the internet far too long now, since the 90's and not like some casual internet, been addicted to it since the 90's. So yeah there's not much that can get me today. I recall after watching Wang's video on 1 guy 1 jar, because he only played the audio... I just had to go and look up the actual video. It was pretty bad, whole lot of blood, made me cringe slightly.
I was honestly expecting much worse.
That said I'm fairly sure I started dissociating after clicking watch...

I wouldnt worry too much, my guess is that a sizeable portion of people had pinworms when they were kids because kids are gross and have bad higene, so just dont be gross
Most people have them as kids, unless you're into biting your nails or sucking your fingers, or don't wash your hands after taking a dump, you're good. I don't think the 100% stat is true.
Plus the itching involved is apparently VERY intense.
I've known several people with it from pork. Btw... there is a fine line between paranoid and infestation lol

If I remember correctly, the reason these ass loving worms are so prevalent amongst humans is because so many people scratch their ass and then don't wash their hands.
