This was a good story. I loved the saucer separation sequence. The use of tricorder specs on Scott's computer was good touch along with the rendering of the auxiliary control room. Doctor Oldsmobile, the mustache, that took over Spock's station was a bit much, but he was oh so 70's. It would be nice to look into Spock's scanner and see something else other than a heartbeat. Very well done. Bravo.
That mustachioed fellow at the science console was Lt. Kyle and he is straight from the animated series. And, yes, the Filmation animators did give him a 70's style cookie duster.

James Doohan did by his own acting ability become the fourth of the great 4 characters of TOS Star Trek. There are too many TOS episodes where Scotty is ultimate cool and an excellent subordinate to Capt. Kirk. He would have been the first choice, next in line, to captain a starship.

I am Star Trek fan for 36 years, & am 46 old now. Started with watching the Search for Spock in the theatre . In Europe and in '85 or 1986! Not sure, but soon came ST II The Wrath of Khan on TV and very soon ST IV The Voyage Home in the movies, theatre. I remembered watching the motion picture on TV but I was too young then, I make connection to the sequels after watching ST IV ! After that TNG came.
TOS watched in 2002/3! There was TOS on satellite on Germany TV channel synchronized on German so I skipped it..
@@paxhumana2015 Mel Blanc has been dead for more than 30 years, but there are still people who can voice Bugs Bunny. Sorry, but Scott L. is right -- the voice work could have been better. And the rest is pure brilliance.
The main voice sounds like a computer voice with a sore throat.
Do you propose to “reanimate” dead actors? 😆
I worked in the engineering department of a nuclear submarine and we ran drills Monday through Friday, with Saturday and Sunday off, meaning you could just run all the equipment to keep the thing moving through the ocean, without having to fight pretend fires and pretend nuclear accidents.
I love how the bridge actually looks like it belongs to a ship in a Federation with all the different alien species.
I am very glad you enjoyed it!
Very Filmation-y! Perfect amount of cheesiness. Felt like just like the animated series. Clearly you put a lot of love into this.
Thank you so much 🙂. All of the Filmation-y angles were loving inserted to ensure this fit in with what was done in mid-1970s. Cheers!
I always make it a point of watching anything that involves the original series or the animated series. The stories can always continue this way.
Wow holy crap dude. Awesome and heartfelt, I just found this via thumbnail and half expected some sort of Sealab-style parody, but you might have put out one of the best episodes in the series that helped start me on Star Trek 35 years ago. Neat! Thanks.
Wow, thanks!
The spirit of Filmation lives on
Outstanding! This really took me back to my childhood when I watched reruns of the Star Trek animated series on Saturday mornings! Thank you.
That's awesome!
Well done!!! I'll never get over how ST: TAS perfect you fan films are. Not only are you are a spot on "Trek aficionado", but clearly a keen observer of the 'Filmmation style' (their unique shot angles, simple yet detailed background art designs, etc). Please, keep these coming; I was 9 years old when ST: TAS used come on NBC's Saturday morning lineup and you're bring back some fond memories and fulfilling a wish I always wanted to happen...that Filmmation's Animated Star Trek made more episodes.
So glad you liked it, Gary! I was 11 when it first aired. Glad you like all the Filmation-isms. I tried to put as many of the unique (goofy) angles as possible without being distracting.
@@CHDanhauser If you're thinking about a future storyline--I'd love to see the Kzinti again (more on their civilization would be nice). Maybe even discovering if Starfleet Intelligence or Starfleet Historic Research found any more weapons from the Slaver Empire. Just a thought--lol.
Nice to see a new episode after all these years. :-)
Hope you enjoyed it!
🖖😎👍Very cool and very nicely well done and executed in every detail way shape and form provided indeed, also enjoyed the saucer separation scene the only other time I have scene that done was on Startrek Continues episode 11 were they used both parts of the ship as well to attack an enemy star ship with their phasers from both were as you used the tractor beam and phasers !,👌.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
This was really good. Love how the other spaceship had the Moonbase Alpha sound effect from Space:1999.
Nice! I wondered if anyone would notice. The ambient sound from Alpha's Main Mission was one of the two sounds added for the alien ship bridge.
@@CHDanhauser very nice work on your part. Would love to get your email address.

Well done! Nailed the tone and style.
Fascinating fanfare true tribute to James Doohan and Gene Roddenberry good job
Your work is always fantastic and greatly appreciated. Thank you so very much for allowing us to see and live you art.
You are so welcome!
This is magnificent. Just like Filmation would've done it.
Thank you for the Aurelian in engineering at 13:57. Star Trek avians never get enough love.
You're very welcome. Aleek-Om also appears in my previous full-length episode "Ptolemy Wept." As a historian, he was appropriately one of the Enterprise crew that was sent to the space station to make tricorder scans. I will likely use him in a cameo in an upcoming Logic Lesson PSA video.
@@CHDanhauser I will have to watch that one. Thank you!
Mayweather 7. Nice reference.
All in all very good animated star trek film . Nice work people , keep up the good work . Looking forward to more episodes .
Thank you very much! I hope to do more in future.
James Doohan did by his own acting ability become the fourth of the great 4 characters of TOS Star Trek. There are too many TOS episodes where Scotty is ultimate cool and an excellent subordinate to Capt. Kirk. He would have been the first choice, next in line, to captain a starship.
Wow! This was absolutely fantastic! Well done, sir!
Thank you kindly!
That was super cool!!!
Ah!!! This IS STAR TREK!! Loved this. it has everything. thank you Captain Curt and Crew for doing this...Star Trek lives...AGAIN!!!
Glad you enjoyed it! I hope to find time to craft subsequent new eps.
Scott & McCoy sharing an "adult beverage"--THAT would have never happened on the actual Animated Series. Can you imagine the parental complaints? ^__^
You're probably right, but I can't help but recall 'The Slaver Weapon' where the Kzinti were obviously killed when the weapon exploded. Another Saturday morning no-no. Perhaps the censors just didn't catch on... :-)
Actually, Kirk and Spock drink what appears to be beer from large tankards at the end of "The Magicks of Megas-tu"
Nah, people are way more sensitive and more easily offended today. The drink would have been fine. I grew up in (and survived) the 70’s where many of the toys at the time could literally kill you...
CHDanhauser Exactly!
@@KoolKatDave yeah had some hand me downs of 70s toys as an 80s kid and of course by that point every R rated movie had its toy line lol. A big no no these days.
THAT WAS AMAZING!!! Wonderful tribute
Thank you so much!
Very well done, reminds me of STC : Star Trek continues.
This was a great animated series. I remember watching them in 1974. I was 14 yrs old at the time...how bout some original Jonny Quest episodes. They were also cool to watch.
Well done and so much fun! Thank you for making these!
Glad you like them!
"Buffalo folk, won't you come out tonight..." ^_^
Why not? The more aliens, the merrier. One of the great things about the animated series is that it was so much easier to create aliens.
Thanks for making these. TAS premiered when I was 10, and it was my introduction to Trek.
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is really well done.
I'd rather watch more of such fan-made efforts than more of ST Lower Decks. There's a missing opportunity for CBS Viacom there.
You're entitled to that opinion but i personally believe LD is one of the best series since DS9. The Discovery is the one who is making a mockery out of the Roddenberry Universe
