- Apocalyptic diorama of a water town on a scale of 1:720.
The scene shows an American aircraft carrier (U.S.S. Enterprise) wedged between two buildings. Over the years, the survivors have developed this "island" for their needs.
Various kits (Revell, Italeri, Eduard) were used (Kitbashing).

Excellent work my friend! You make a very nicely detailed diorama! When working at the scale of a Aircraft Carrier, you can really spruce it up with all kinds of greeblies to make it look like a real post apocalyptic survival city. This looks like it would totally be at home in the movie Water World. Very nicely done!

This is fantastic, and truly the most interesting and inspirational build video I've seen in a long time! I applaud you especially for not resorting to the all-too-common practise of 3D printing. There is nothing in this build that cannot be replicated by anyone, without expensive special tools.
Thanks! You don't necessarily need expensive equipment to be creative.

Wenn man die Einleitung sieht, kommt einem das Diorama recht groß vor.
Und dann wundert man sich über die Detailierung bei dem Maßstab.

Ist auch groß...50x 30cm. Das müsste das größte Diorama sein was ich bis jetzt gebaut habe. Danke!!

Krass, sehr cooles Projekt und man erkennt eine große Vorstellungskraft!
Zuerst dachte ich: OK, der Flugzeugträger kommt noch zusätzlich auf‘s Diorama. Das er das Hauptelement ist war in den ersten Bildern am Anfang für mich nicht auszumachen…
Interessant auch die Gestaltung der Wasserfläche mit aufgemalten Schaumkronen, alles mit Giessharz zu gestalten wäre wohl schwierig und teuer geworden.
Ich würde sagen Dein bisher kreativstes Werk und ein absoluter Hingucker 😊
Danke! Gießharz hätte ich machen können, aber ich wollte diesmal was anderes probieren. Leider sieht man gar nicht so viel davon.

Really, really like this but I think you should have shown some bits cracked, snapped or repaired with chipped paint and graffiti. Also I think the floor areas seem to clean, even in the corners. These would make it even more realistic IMO.

I remember building that exact same kit more than 30 years ago. Takes me right back, I distinctly remembered about half the parts you put on. Amazing to see they still make it.
I really loved this kind of Dioramas... and for me, this the best I've watched so far. This is truly amazing.

Was mir beim Ansehen des Videos auffiel: Mit sehr wenig Aufwand könnte das dystopische Diorama in ein Solarpunk-Diorama umgestaltet werden: Mehr Pflanzen, einige Windkraftwerke mehr und freundlichere Farben.
What struck me while watching the video: With very little effort, the dystopian diorama could be transformed into a Solarpunk diorama: more plants, some more wind turbines and friendlier colors.

Epic build, mate! This reminds me a lot of the anime "Suisei no Gargantia", or "Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet" in English. If you haven't watched it, I highly recommend checking it out. :)

I think you shouldn`t show the WHOLE project in the beginning, it would be more suspension if you would only show it at the end.
I really like your line of work. Very creative and beautiful! Two of the (maybe) important things Ive learned: when you see cities, you expect windows, holes and coloured shadows, different tones everywhere. So I use 30%, 60% and 90% adhesives, pencils or brushed... and most importantly: chaos! I grab a black oil paint and smear some items, carefully perfect... but yours seems so much better....lol Thanks for sharing!

So that's what they did when the U.S.S. Enterprise was decommissioned in 2017. Actually, joking aside, this is more what I pictured Rivet City in Fallout 3 looking like than what was in the game. Cool stuff.
