After numerous problems you need not know about, I'm finally back, and I intend to keep it up! As for the future, I will finish the Italian Wars - 2 or 3 more episodes, and do the third episode for the Portuguese Empire. As far as what comes after that, I have yet to decide. More empire histories, wars of religion, some content about Hungarian history... Who knows what's in the works. I will also monetize and set up a Patreon as soon as I have some extra content I can offer as a reward...
The battle music replacing the slower music when the description of a battle begins reminds me of how the music changes when you face an enemy in Zelda.

The Battle of Marignano was the most decisive victory that the French had in the entire Italian Wars, because unlike the others, in this one they took better political advantage; However, their lack of understanding of the forms of administration of the Italian territories caused the Milanese to rebel against the government of Francis I and with that they lost their great opportunity to keep the territory. Later, with the coronation of Charles V and his great territorial inheritance, the balance of power was equalized, Spain no longer needed alliances to carry the war in its favor and it would be the military developments that would decide future confrontations (France was unable to taking advantage of its larger population to create national armies like the Spanish and the use of mercenaries worked against them, in addition to not imitating the model of modern armies).
Good video about an interesting Lombard war I'm a Lombard from Milan and i'm proud that the duchy of Milan fought for Switzerland against the unification of Italy
The French very cleverly took full advantage of disunity and rivalries among the Italian states to consistently defeat their various Italian opponents in battle and to seize vast tracts of Italian territory with almost ridiculous ease. Sadly, the Italians could not unite, and thereby kept making the same mistakes against the French.
Francis had paid of the Swiss Bernese and Fribourgeois before the battle of Marignano, they went back, without the Bernese and Fribourgeois the Swiss had lost their best warriors and lost the battle. The Bernese also had no Finacial interests South of the Alps such as the Central Swiss Cantons and Zurich had and preferred to concentrate of lucrative trade with France, the Swiss Confederation was still a lose Confederacy then and not an united nation.
Glad to have you back : ) I first remember stumbling across your channel a year ago. I was hoping to find a detailed breakdown of the Italian Wars, and there you were with a brand new playlist of excellent videos! Love your other videos as well.
I'm so happy to (after Binge watching the entire series) find out the series continues along. Thank you very much for your effort. Glorious content, enjoyed to a great extend!
Probably the fact that it takes coalitions to defeat France. It was an uncertain time for warfare, as technology and governments evolved. France was not perfect, but its opponents were far from perfect as well. France has always been known to get some decisive battles even after a few failures and the diplomatic game improved over time.
Because the spaniards appeared in battlefield, just as simple as this, it happened the same to the swiss, they were supposed to be the best infantry until the spanish soldiers gave them seriors beatings like in Bicoca or Sesia.

Why are the french so lousy in battles yet they were considered the strongest country in that age?
Good point! But that's just what makes the Italian Wars so fascinating.

Until the Napoleonic wars, France was the most popuolus country in Europe. They had a lot of manpower, so could face defeats.
They've won the most battles in world history what do you mean?
damn, my ancestors used France as an ATM. Good old times except that they died all the time in foreign wars.
They got Bellinzona after asieging Dijon which was the most lucrative deal having the Alpine passes secured.
