Yeah until recently, sludge pump was my go to for dreadnought missions. It just melts them, and you don't gotta worry about having good aim to hit weakpoints
It has very consistent damage, but I'd hesitate to call it great against dreadnoughts. Like with that first one, that was nearly all of your sludge ammo with the ammo mod, and it was against a dreadnought in solo play. They have over twice as much health if you're playing with a full team, so you're going to burn through your ammo so fast in that setting. I like combustive goo for this instead but it has a similar issue, you burn through ammo like crazy for damage thats consistent but not exceptional. If you really want to run sludge pump against dreadnoughts, the best thing is to probably focus on team support instead of damage. They slow down a ton being stuck in puddles, so if you stack that with densification and neurotoxin from the wave cooker you can keep the dreadnought completely locked down. Even the twins with their tendency to dig away are made easier with all the DoT, making them less likely to heal if you make sure to keep applying it to both of them.
The health increase due to a 4-man team is not a problem. The main thing is that the slime shells remove the dreadnought's armor even when hitting the frontal armor. The damage will be done by other team members.
"you're going to burn through your ammo so fast" but we also have teammates that will be shooting the dreadnaught offsetting the increased health so i don't think that's true.
congratz on finding it, this is old build that are rarely used because the tip doesnt say about its shoots can penetrate ANY armor, and it has huge dmg too
Personally I prefer volatile impact mixture and blistering necrosis because you can borderline one shot through their armor and through the boss in solo by applying blisters when they're invulnerabl. And by one shot I mean one shot their face as in you do all of the damage in between the phases that they are invulnerable not like insta kill the boss.
I've been preaching this build ever since I found it by far my most powerful dreadnought build I take out my driller specifically for these missions especially cause most others don't use builds that are good but so we still have drills (didn't even know it pens armor lel it still does weakpoint bonus dmg thought, right?)
nope, sludge blast 12211 and PP EPC becuase you need ammo efficiency and 12 but not 8 shots to actually kill a wall of glyphids more ammo efficiently because t2 A option and B options has the same amount of damage 288, no need to take stronger shot if you can have 12 shots to kill 12 targets. also taking axes means you actually crap to killing dense swarm that is running into your face because unlike VIM sludge blast cannot blowthrough that makes 6 explosive grenades a MUST HAVE unles you are on haz5.5x3 where neurotoxin actually kills more
VIM 23222 is better in almost any situation (barring a team comp built around slast, using a gunner and engi for cc and hordes). It has far better ammo economy; and it is way more versatile, being useful against waves. You also don't have a few of the upgrades unlocked, some of which are way better than you think; try them out.
Yes when playing solo or duo you would normaly use two charges after a dread fight to restock, note that dreadnought missions have a lot of nitra to easy compensate for this build using a lot of ammo
Why persistant plasma tho? isnt heavy hitter a better option? Also I absolutelu hate people who intentionally dont buy upgrades. Normal shot damage is good for VIM, one of the best general use sludge pump OCs. I suppose i'm not such a genius but C4 isnt rounded up, right? taking 3 c4 only gives 1 for each resup.
Yeah there will be better options for killing the dreads for the secondary however PP works well for dealing with the ambient bugs like swarmers and jellys, the main showcase here is the sludge blast
Holy moly. Didn't think driller of all classes would have a Dreadnought build this good.

If your playing with full team you need 4 times as less ammo, an btw he mostly just used it and not his other tools
Now all you need is a scout to get you ammo
The driller is also good at getting to objects on walls or ceilings if you try hard, but with a scout shooter or engineer it will be much easier
sludge blast haters in shambles
absolutely

Been using this build for a very long time. But what's even more crazy. 4 drillers rocking sludge blast 😂😂😂😂😂

Dude that that's wicked cool, I want that OC XD
I underestimated Sludge Blast everyone fail to mention they can go through dreadnought armor. This is great for guaranteed chip damage

Actually popping off!
This does look effective and it certainly is to some extent, but I'm still very curious about how Sludge Blast holds up to Volatile Impact Mixture
damn i just need to revise my sludge blast build slightly and i have this thing...

Are these the world's crispiest fries?
How did you get the Nerf skin on your sludge pump?
como todas las demas, por evento de pilas :P
probably a mod
@@achield3613 I’ve seen others use it
I've got all the cosmetics a while ago so not sure exactly but was probably a cargo (battery) create like @matiasgtz3087 said
It’s a cargo crate weapon cosmetic added this season
How much do you struggle against general waves with this OC tho?
I fight a wave at the end of the video
Good, especially for team support, but it's most definitely not the best.
Average build, requires a lot of resources and ammunition to destroy the boss
Yes when playing solo or duo you would normaly use two charges after a dread fight to restock, note that dreadnought missions have a lot of nitra to easy compensate for this build using a lot of ammo
Is sludge blast better than VIM for dreads?
yes

c4 is rounded up now, it was changed in season 4 if i remember correctly so if you take 3 c4 you get 2 back for each resup
@@thib0958 Cool, they patced C4. Now it is no longer forced to use only ammo or only damage.

Wait, this is meta build?!
how do you get to the arena that he's in
Its a sandbox mod to showcase the build
