Everyone needs to remember that Evolutions was mass over printed and stayed on shelves for years. Now it's $20-$30 a pack ... Think long term! Don't get caught in the short term noise.
Evolutions is the best comparison to Japanese 151 but 151 is such a better set with more valuable chase cards so in the long run its gonna be something indeed.

I love that the prices come down on these. Actually in my price range to pick up a couple boxes now.
Not too hard to profit on current box prices. We saw almost $200 a box not too long ago, they wont print forever. We could see boxes get stupid in a few years.
Nowhere around me has 151, let alone Japanese 151, so I haven’t opened any, and I refuse to pay for the insane shipping costs.

That’s why you buy loads now to rip and keep loads in storage in a year 151 will be worth well over $151
No doubt when it’s out of print it will be back at $250 a box eventually
not a year they just reprinted might even get a English one too with prices exploding in the English cards lately. But I give it 2-3 years for sure. Will it be scarVs eskies? Probably not with the rocket set, eevee set, and eventually new Megas in legends ZA. But lots to look forward too.
@@andrewmahabir589 in a year 151 will be over $150 easy in 2-3 it will be over $300 when they stop printing and maybe this could be the last print who knows the price will steadily go up . And you can have more than one good set in a generation that explodes .

I’ve only opened 2 boxes of 151 and got lucky and pulled the Mewtwo masterball out of the second box.

Crown Zenith would be a good one to try and see if you can open for profit while packs are relatively low still
The thing is Pokemon said they were going to print this set to the ground before it even came out. People paying $100+ for a $40 booster box because of FOMO is crazy. I still think this set will rebound and those Master Balls/Poke Balls will make it attractive to future collectors.
The Drowzee made me laugh so hard cause I was thinking, “Those can’t be the only psychic pokemon in 151.”
I got super lucky 8 boxes. Pikachu on first and Gengar in the 5th - masterball cards of course. Gengar art work is my favorite. Thought it was amazing since I saw the English holo!
not a bad box honestly for 151. the new team rocket or dragon set for pokemon prob the next best set to gather up after 151
Yeah, I think it’s definitely a good investment to get them while they’re loading now and hang onto them for a bit can but I definitely see them going back up in price once they stop printing it
I'm happy to return to Pokemon for a moment to check out 151! I bought a couple UPCs, an ETB, and now two JP booster boxes are coming soon from Japan for under $65 each!
it's getting dangerously close to Japanese retail which is $37ish. Fun to open with the guaranteed hits, but will cause anxiety to those holding for price to recover, will be a few years I bet.
Crown zenith’s gallery has the gold cards and the mewtwo as HEAVY hitters, on top of that all the art rares look amazing, plus it has above average pull rates so it over all a good set to aim for profitability from.
I opened 2 boxes today on my bday, and got the mew SAR, zapdos SAR and then flareon masterball lol. Talk about a sick day!
I recently got a squirtle/charmander line godpack. Feel like my luck with that set is spent now, but i'm still gonna open it.

I really enjoy this set, and while the price drop is devastating for many, I am slightly glad that I can rip these packs more often.
Glad to see them come down in price so more people have a chance to pick some up to rip or for their PC!
Opening up the equivalent amount of packs of English 151 would be an interesting idea to see if it would do better or worse.
You should try and do this with Paldea Evolved, see how for profit that turns if you can get the Magicarp maybe?

i was at work and on the tv the jp 151 set was being opened and explaining how the card game works. it through me off cause all i ever see on the tv is sports nothing else. im looking like a nerd explaining why it makes sense for it to be on the tv cause card games are competitive lmao
Would love to see more Scarlet n Violet japanese openings. They’re dirt cheap and the early sets (clay burst, snow hazard, triple beat “Paldea evolved” sets) have the best art work in my opinion. Full of cool illustration rares.
The boxes are like 40-55$ each and would be a nice change.

Thank you, bringing up the forgotten set surrounded by TWO specialty sets. It has the value tbh with midrange hitting cards throughout the entire set it makes it easier to make money back.

You can find excellent deals on Japanese boxes all over right now because the Japanese Yen is so weak against the dollar right now.
Y'all should definitely try Obsidian Flames. Super hard to get some profit out of it in the Scarlet Violet era of cards.

I suggest Crown Zenith, one of my favorite SWSH sets, still pretty affordable, and has a great hit rate. Think it's definitely possible

I think it’s wild that it’s considered bad for the market when it reaches actual MSRP. The mark up for shipping it over here is just falling off.

At the moment, ripping a set without feeling like there is so much money on the line is a good feeling. I have no doubt this set will bounce back, but for now, I am not unhappy with it coming down in price so much.

Ripping packs is almost never profitable, but usually fun. I don't know, try Crown Zenith, that has decent pulls.

Look, the price of this set should never have gone above $80 in the states, considering its constantly being reprinted. I’m all for sets drastically rising in value, but only after it’s not being printed anymore. Because that’s what makes sense.
