RIP Muddy Waters (April 4, 1913 - April 30, 1983), aged 70 And RIP Little Walter (May 1, 1930 - February 15, 1968), aged 37 You both will be remembered as legends.
In 1983 I walked into a small record store and they had a vcr tape playing of Muddy Waters performing live. The owner was nice enough to make a copy of it for me to give to my mother. Let me tell you my mother knows the blues like no other. She is 92 and still has 78’s.

Hate that scene when little Walter died. Muddy did his best to hold it together in front of his old Lady. Brings back a bad time when I lost my brother JD to the hands of another man. Rip JD Eye for an eye tooth for tooth hand for hand foot for a foot. See you on the other side someday Hermano🙏🏼
Jeffrey Wright has too deep a presence to play Muddy Waters. He is a KILLER actor and Muddy was a great musician, but not that deep a man. Eamonn Walters is a different story and does a great job with Howling Wolf!
I bought this CD......and looked up allot on Muddy Waters.....Little Walter....and Howlin Wolf......now in the movie I think Howlin Wolf was given a little bit of a bad rap....he was a great musician and funny...gd man.....actually the smartest out of the bunch....to not have a White Daddy with all the Cadillacs and junk....was his own man till his death and kept performing ...some with Eric Clapton......Leonard Chesterfield..(his real name)....kinda...but not as bad...reminds me of Jerry Hallard from NWA.....till most of them got smarter.....don't get me wrong...he did get all of them thier brake during those times....but still kinda robbed them too....except for Wolf...maybe others I don't know about......I recently found...a little Walter CD an Etta James original CD's at a flea market...and brought them home....I never knew much about the blues until this movie.....now I'm consumed......
@@DonnaFudge Never heard Len Chess robbing anyone off. In fact, he'd pay arthists in advance. There's a story how one singer got $2000 for the unreleased record yet, he blew all that money, came in Chess office drunk and threatened with gun, if they don't pay him.
And to think that two of the most significant players of R&B music weren't Black but Polish. I wonder how the people of Poland felt that they're country's own helped shape up R&B music
I get people want to get back at others for pain linked with color and the way to seemingly do that is uplift themselves and the like for their color- but it’s very sad when you see natural talent especially in music all people see is the outside color and not the friggin inner heart. Who can I be mad at? I’m someone who never participated in color rivalries- so I’m naturally mad anyone and everyone to mention it. I’ve experience some of all kinds of hatred from people. I wish you all would do better. Luckily this music is good whether we comment about it or not. It made history and I’m glad for that.
Love this movie, but they could have at least taught him how to play the harmonica 🤦♂️ Little known fact, Little Walter created the famous “Juke” in 1 take… just 1. There isn’t another artist alive that can say they’ve done the same on a hit record. Little Walter is The Godfather of the harmonica.
I love Movie especially Howlim Wolf !! I fell in love with him quick !! Muddy is handsome he everything he ever played in and sto trying to cancel Columbus Short he is too talented for the ish, I miss him.
Everyone who performed in this movie absolutely killed it, I mean absolutely killed it.

I don't know when we're going to appreciate Jeffrey wright. The brother has so much acting range.
I think Columbus Short did his best in this role! Jeffrey Wright was absolutely at his best as well!
Columbus Short played tf out of his role in this movie!
This movie is so underrated. One of my favorites.
Doing something new, inventing, creating. The birth of a new kind of music.

Chess rewrote the game and let the talent simply just "do their thing" and THAT is why the music was so great.
I hear yall boys, show this new generation Wat music was about.💯💯💯👍👍👍

I’m 27 and I love the classic blues all the way! Real instruments, vocalists not depending on auto tune.
