  • On 2nd October 2017, Neave Brown was awarded the RIBA's Royal Gold Medal for architecture. Three weeks later, on 27th October, a sold-out audience of nearly 1,300 people, assembled at the Hackney Empire Theatre in East London to hear Neave speak at an event organised by The Architecture Foundation and chaired by Mark Swenarton, the author of the recently published Cook's Camden: The Making of Modern Housing (2017).
Joining Neave and Mark on stage were Farshid Moussavi, director of Farshid Moussavi Architecture, Stephen Bates of Sergison Bates Architects and Peter Ahrends of Ahrends Burton and Koralek. An Evening with Neave Brown was one of Neave's final public appearances. He died, at the age of 88, on 9th January 2018.
