Ravel offers up a master-class in how to orchestrate original piano compositions...."Une Barque" is a magnificent seascape, shimmering, at times filled with a kind of mystical yearning; "Alborado" is a colourful evocation of Spain, carried off with the composer's customary flair. Two of my favourite shorter works by Ravel in excellent performances....
Hello, Mr. Rodders. I'm sorry that I have not written to you in such a long time. I've been struggling these past two years to find a room to sleep in peacefully on a nightly basis. I finally found such a room just a few weeks ago. Now that I have a room to sleep and eat in I can listen to music from uploaded from your channel again! I will now change the subject to something that relates to the music of this webpage's video before I ramble for too long about my personal life. I think that Stanislaw Skrowaczewski was the greatest conductor of Maurice Ravel's works that feature an orchestra. When I was a child I had a cassette (Excelsior label) that included Ravel's orchestral music conducted also by Skrowaczeski but it featured instead, in its entirety, the Rapsodie Espagnole, the Alborada del Gracioso (the very same one that one can listen to in the video above this comments section), the Pavane pour une infante defunte, La Valse (the same one found on the album presented in the above and video), and (finally), the Bolero. At some point I have listened to all of the works presented in this video's album (with different conductors) except for the Fanfare. You have probably guessed by now that I am going to ask you if you could please download this Fanfare by Ravel conducted by Skrowaczewski for me, that I may just now become acquainted with it. If that is your guess, it is a correct one because I am very much interested in listening to it! My apologies if my request bothers you or if my English is poor or if you feel that I have written too much in this particular comments section. May you have a good day, Mr. Rodders. Best regards.
Welcome back Max and no apology is necessary. Here is the Skrowaczewski recording : th-cam.com/video/BqKllaDS2V4/w-d-xo.html. You will also see a link in that upload to the complete ballet.
