What I learned is that “look forward to” is kind of an idiom that takes “-ing” (or noun) after “to”.
It’s different from “to + V (original form)”

Btw, I was between two alternatives on both the questions I got wrong. My intuition failed me 🥺
In number 2, I'm no English expert but the answer is a little bit odd. If it's [A] there shouldn't be [to] in the sentence. "I'm looking forward [buying] a new car"
Since there is [to] in the sentence. What sounds right to me is, ""I'm looking forward to [buy] a new car".
