Is the powering up before install necessary for it to work?
I didn’t have anything I trusted not to touch the pins next to the negative and two positives so I just installed it without powering it up first, I just moved the needle manually back to “0” before installing it.
When driving now the needle doesn’t move at all. The digital readout still works though.
My reason for replacing is the needle would go to about 20 mph and stay there until you stopped and it would go back to “0”.
    Thanks for any info.

Hi there! We simply used a regular 12V DC power supply!

Allow me to ask another question : when you connect the two 12 DCV
wires to the cluster as shown, does it turn the backlight on?

Hi @nopen6514, powering on the instrument cluster as shown in the video, only the display’s backlight will light up.

Unfortunatelly it didn't help. Needle still stays at 0 km/h even it has been replaced. Doesn't move.
