Can we get a sequel to this where it’s a sudden death of the first player to take battle damage loses, so that decks like PUNK and exosister can still pay LP to use their effects, but we still apply that sudden-death like gameplay.
Next time replace the 1s in the editing with the match rankings! it's really hard to keep track of otherwise. And we can already see the LPs on the phone in the main video lol.. @teamAPS
The moment I saw Paul playing Zoroa I thought "No way he's playing one of the decks with the most amount of self-burn in the entire game"... And then, I laughed so hard when Elis entered the field ngl😂😂😂
I get his logic behind it, but those LP gains are so unreliable, I felt so sad seeing that Zoroa come out.
@@Unyubaby I mean, the gains I'm 99% sure were made just to mitigate a bit the Spells/Traps taxes and to give a bit of lore to each duo, so of course they aren't reliable at all, because they weren't thought with the premise of having just 1 LP😂
Fun fact: Aster Pheonix trains similar to this in the anime. In GX episode 165, Chazz sees him dueling with 1000 LP to his assistant's 10000 LP, also his hands are bleeding from handshaking fans. Pro dueling seems rough.😅
To be fair to Larry, both So and Sol are used. So is actually more common in English (At least, British and Canadian, not sure about American) because So->La and Sol->La basically sound the same.
Not to mention the way most people remember it is from the song in Sound of Music where they use So "So, a needle pulling thread"
Should re-do this video but build decks specifically with 1 LP in mind, no burn cards, and each duelist starts with a swords of revealing light in their hand.

Imagine playing solemn judgement going to half a life point
The game rounds up, so at one LP you can activate it for free.
It rounds up, you have to pay half of your LP, that means 1.

In the first duel, the runic cards would still be banished even if activated in response to dimension shifter. They are only sent to the gy at the end of the chain at which point, dimension shifter would be in effect.
You’re right. They do small misplays in most of their challenge videos. It’s casual duel and still fun to watch so whatevs 🤷🏽♂️🤙🏽
The thing is, it is true that the only LP that matters is the last one, but when it’s your ONLY one, it completely changes how you play, because you can win just by normal summoning and doing any battle damage.
The production value on this channel is far above anything else in the yugituber game.

@@kdehavenmusic Not even close. DuelLogs has high-res card and text; a animated background; and transitions. Team APS has all that except the animated background, plus more. Objectively, TeamAPS has the better production value.
That's one way to make "Sparks" overpowered.

Can we get Larry playing violin as the background music to some duels?
Okay, so idea do a pokemon style battle using 6 decks each. When a deck loses, pick a new deck but the deck who beats it starts at the lp it was at while winning. Keep playing till a player is out of decks. If you deck gets knocked out, that player chooses when picking the next deck.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but in the first game Larry chained two runick spells to shifter, and in the end of that chain shifter resolved. This means that the two runick spells that were used in that chain get banished, meaning they are not in grave to be targeted by runick fountain, meaning Larry does not draw 2 of those 3 cards there. The reasoning for this is that all cards in a chain resolve first, then spell/trap cards that do not remain face-up on the field are removed, meaning at that point all cards going to the gy are banished because shifter has resolved at that point. If MST was chained to pop a card in that chain, then that popped card would’ve went to gy as shifter has not applied, however that did not happen.
That was an interesting duel to watch. Although it was kind of hard to keep track of who was winning and who was losing. There should have been a win and loss counter somewhere, and should of kept track of the LifePoint increases in real time. I enjoyed watching this, and thank you.

Fun fact about the runick battle phase rule you don’t have to declare the battle phase because that’s how the YCS rules it but always ask your head judge at your locals to make sure

This 1LP system works SO well... Considering modern day Yu-Gi-Oh is basically OTK or Lose... Who REALLLY needs more than 1LP😂
As a returning player getting into this kind of community stuff, and master duel, waiting 5 minutes to only lose in one turn is SO frustrating and makes me hate Yugioh. At least the personalities are fun, lol.

4:57 I thought you could only play a quick play spell on your opponents turn if it was set on your previous turn.
Not if it’s Runick, as long as they have their Field Spell on the field, you can activate Quick-Play Spells from your hand during your opponent’s turn
Runick plays differently. Their field spell allows ya to play runick quick plays from your hand even if it's your opponents turn! No need to set them!

5:35 I think the spells should go to banish since they stay on the field until the end of the chain, after which Shifter has already resolved.
Re: So vs Sol discussion. I used to think it was "So" for a very long time too! But I remember reading that the name "Solfège" comes from the Sol and Fa syllables, and that's how I learned it was intended to be "Sol."
But anyway, now that I'm done commenting about music theory on a month old video... one life point is a fun concept!
Here’s an insane concept: Chaos-style, where rather than going one turn at a time, both players duel at the same time, but must perform the same phase simultaneously, then must continue until one wins.

I honestly play a lot of the decks Paul used, but man I knew those sisters were NOT the play for this. He dropped one and I went "Dude they all have a cost!"
The LP gain is a fun perk that happens sometimes, not something you expect.
The game looks so cool and I have all the old yugi and kiba decks from the early 2000’s the one with blue eyes and the dark magician. I play mtg and loved the cartoon so I bought random stuff when I was at the lgs and had extra trade in credit because I wasn’t smart enough to realize it wouldn’t go away if I didn’t spend it ( we were all kids once ) I just never got into it after the pharaoh saga ended ( I don’t know what the official name is ) I have been a fan of the channel from when you had the podcast with the prof a couple years ago. Keep up the good work

I love the way Larry puts on this persona, I at least hope that it is a persona, of this cocky Kaiba-esk player but he does it in such an endearing way I cannot dislike him, I dislike Kaiba a little because he's over the top with it, but Larry isn't and that's what makes it enjoyable to watch videos with him in it

Good video. Larry was always my favourite and now I know he loves Noble Knights as much as me, it all makes sense :)
I used to have a deck that was entirely dedicated to lifepoint gaming. Every last card had some direct lifepoint effect that burned the opponent or fed mine, ideally both at once. That was also of course in a time where 1tks weren't nearly as prevalent. Still fun for casual play, need to try and rebuild it at some point.

The card doesn’t say that the life point cost needs to be a whole number.
Sudden Death: 1 LP seems like a great way to weirdly counter balance how sacky every modern Yugioh deck can be sometimes since everyone is sacky. Literally summoning in the wrong position could be the end of you! Also I loved seeing Paul play Scareclaw! I was cheering for him just as much as any anime character cause they are my favorite Modern clan. X3 Like yeah they're kinda a lock but it's a soft lock most Links get over and Super Heavy Samurai laugh at so I don't feel as bad as when I play like Duston or Ojama even to try and keep you from doing something while I OTK. Also I loved Larry's win using Magical Musket with just their base stuff. Almost as thrilling as watching them in Duel Links but somehow a little more cause I know from experience they have hard time in the OCG.TCG and even Master Drool even with their spell speed breaking abilities and the man got all the zones filled with them!
Very thrilling duels but I would like to see this with more battle trap builds or Eddison and GOAT ones. I think perhaps Lv 4 peircers would be added to the banlist with most "Sparks & Ookazi" type spells. Personally my five decks might surprise you for this:
Mokey Mokey + Fogs (MTG term sorry basically Sanctuary in the Sky, Wabakus stuff like that) to deliver extra humiliation)
Gem Knights (Like seriously my man Calvin probably shouldn't be allowed in here folk he will make so many monsters to make up for likely not getting to Lapus Lazuli turn 1)
Amazons: Swords Woman probably another one that needs banned from these day one but also their ability to make invicible boss combined with banishing could stall long enough to get the win with one decisive blow (especially my Red Eyes variant from Duel Links)
And another that needs banned like pronto: Spike Shield + anything. Like seriously DNA Surgery + Cipher Soldier or Stone Statue of the Aztecs means you're going into -8000 of one card effect.
Gusto: Being able to cycle through destroyed monsters just to steal whatever you had would be quite nice. Paired with Kaijus could be another easy ban from this format.
Also I'm curious because I remember when they get down low they get stronger would Dinomorphia be able to do anything in this? XD Can you half a 1 into half? Anyway great format guys! Wish Team APS would do one of these as a house tourney on MD and let the fans in on it with a posted custom ban list sometime. Miss your house tourneys from DL.
If you half your lp when your lp is 1, it will still be 1 because it rounded off. so go crazy with dinomorphia and solemn judgment

This is a fun type of a challenge... not one that should become its own format. Oh boy would this go crazy for Dinomorphia! YOU LOSE 0 ADVANTAGE! Tier 0 even... if you ban all Inflict and exact Life Point cost effects.
