Also, just so people don't think that it's always cold in these cities, a few years ago, I was on a summer vacation which took me through SD, and it was hot enough that I needed to turn on the AC. Then, when I drove to AK back in '84, I visited Fairbanks, and it was actually quite a warm day. So, it's that the winter lows and the summer highs are separated by an insane number of degrees.
