Really?!! Coz i can remember him making a bunch of mistakes this season - 1) china sprint qualifying 2) Bollard in Miami 3) Hungary and probably some others. The question is whether these mistakes were costly or not.
And also because their was no clear contender. Their were way too many different drivers winning races or getting podiums when he wasn't. And it wasn't necessarily one driver's fault, it's just because how close the top 4 cars have been since like Spa. That helped him quite a bit. But obviously also like you said, he's an alien lol.
It was Alpine who made the mistake. It was very clear based on the radio. They called Ocon in but the pit crew wasn't told. And Stroll...his radio wasn't working since lap 1, they were basically communicating with him via pit boards.
Lawson hasn't wrecked his car in F1 so far 4pts this year(125k front wing taken off by Colapinto). Yuki crashed in Italy and twice in Mexico $2m. Colapinto is probably over 4m now with a 5 points and Perez is 4.7m in car damage.
Max is the most talented driver on the grid when he is backed into a corner. A lions mentality that won’t budge for anything or anyone! Get him in the zone if you dare!!!!
It sounds completely absurd that a crash in qualifying on a notoriously tricky circuit would put a rookie driver out of contention for a seat... But then this is Red Bull we're talking about.
The width of the average road in USA is so wide compared to elsewhere in the world - the fact it's a street race doesn't impact overtaking at all, it's great!
Did Spanners almost admit Max is indeed the better than sr. Lewis Hamilton in response to Jonathan saying Max is the best on the grid? I was on the edge of my seat for a moment, but he was saved by the changing topic 😂.....
I was so locked in the episode till you started unnecessary speculation as to whether Max is gonna be at Redbull....that's a tired story. Quite franklu the podcast has more stories to cover than that
Are you sure about that? Because if you have more power and the drivability is about getting power when you need it in a predictable way, I can imagine that those ratios could be effected.
My first thought was, drivability must have to with tire temps, but after thinking further... I'm definitely not an expert in Pu or anything formula cars really...But could it be that the power coming from the PU might be more predictable if cooled better when in cooler conditions? Meaning easier to get the better traction out of corner especially? We would have to look at which particular corners (high speed or coming out of slower speed) the Mercs were superior I guess to maybe help come to a conclusion.
The McLaren fastest car on track doesnt really hold water in retrospect. At its height it had far more competition from Ferrari, Red Bull and Mercedes than Red Bull did through the first half of the season and when the RB was fourth, McLaren wasnt always the fastest. When Red Bull was dominant they had no competition. McLaren certainly left some points on the track but not enough to swing the championship.
I listened to the sky f1 get together before the season started about Lewis going to Ferrari and Martin brundle told us all that Lewis will not get the same treatment because he’s leaving funny how certain places feels he has a car he can attack with very interesting 🧐
The conversation around Verstappen and his place in the record books is so interesting. People have been forcing the argument that he’s “one of the greats” even before he won a single championship. While it is clear Max is extremely talented, these discussions so often ignore the fact that 1.) his teammates have never been allowed to challenge him 2.) for many of his championships, the stewards have disproportionately ruled in his favour and contrary to the established rules of the sport 3.) his team has been allowed to get away with several instances of cheating (e.g., cost cap infringements and asymmetric braking) that have given him significant competitive advantages. While many of the “greats” have had one or more of these advantages, none of them have had them all. Yet, so many people are unabashed in calling him “the best the sport has ever seen” and a “great”. He might very well be, but why has he needed all of these advantages to succeed? No one ever seems to ask that question or seek to answer it. To me, the bar has always been too low for someone as talented as he is.
New race director proving his loyalty to liberty media by calling SAI pit lane infringement a corner cut is showing them he’ll lie/cheat & refer to different rules to give them the result they want!!!
It's NOT luck, it's having better skills then the competition, simply always maximizing your OWN results, the others are incapable of doing so (see Leclerc cooking his tires too fast today, unforced driver error). Max was the only driver that could win it this year. And he would have won it in a Ferrari and in a McLaren too.
Let's loose Vegas, as soon as possible. Is just another American cringe show. America had a nice series in Indy Cars, why do you now want to destroy the only series where open wheel racing where every team designs their own car, and race them too the hilt. You have done enough damage to racing sa it is.
One of the reasons why Max won this championships is the fact that he just hardly does any mistakes compared to all others

Perhaps playing "silly computer games" all day has its benefits.
Max knows the rules better than anyother, he knows he will get penalized but he knows when and where to drive over the limit

Stroll can read?
Thanks for these great podcasts 👍

Literally tighter than their formula cars in that backseat

The PU being more efficient in cooler conditions won't affect the drivability of the car.
Engine efficiency does

Yes it can
Put it this way. You'd never run it deliberately less efficient meaning you couldn't run as much DF

So much crap on this channel! Gossip, misinformation and complete nonsense

Max’s title this l year was also due to not having a dominant adversary. Divide and conquer and such. But that is luck.

Also known as being the best driver on the grid lol.
It's mostly being in a class of his own.
