To me was interesting about Hiwatt and Matamp is the component placement.
You have all the volume and controls up top (from looking inside the chassis), just below that is the signal board, below that the preamp tubes, below that the power supply filtering, below that the component board for the output, and finally, the output tubes. This seems to create an opportunity to get both transformers at opposite end of the chassis.
From what I saw on FB, your components are arranged in a similar way.

@ I wish I could arrange my components in a similar layout, but because I built everything into a Fender Blues Deluxe chassis, I can’t re-organize everything. I guess if I really had to I could drop some new preamp tube holes in closer to the volume and tone controls but swapping tubes will get really difficult with it being a combo. Mostly I wish that I could do that to get my transformers as far away from each other as I could get away with.

I watched a few of your other videos. Interesting takes. What’s your opinion on discrete opamps vs cheap opamps? Opamps are used in the audio path of guitar amps right? My knowledge on electronic schematics is very limited. My dream guitar amp would be similar to just an ordinary fender hot rod deluxe. Same features. Just one that uses better parts for a better sound.

@@SoCalxSurfs no i only use tubes man. No transistors opamps or diode clipping
