I just came here to find the EXACT way to cook couscous and my God I ❤how simple and effortless you made this!!! I went ahead and followed your instructions (to the T) but added some parsley, toasted peanuts and lemon zest at the end. It was perfection!!! The family loved it (and they’re usually a hard nut to crack with anything beyond “steak & potatoes”). Thank you, thank you THANK YOU!!! You’re the BEST😊
Changing my diet this year so I will be all up in your channel this year. Thank you for your recipes

This makes the most delicious, fluffy cous cous that even my fussy kids devour with gusto. So quick and easy to make, it's perfect for post-work evening meals.
I needed this 🙌...thanks alot
Of course!
Never knew how to make it I just felt there was way more to to it thank you so much for sharing
This is not couscous but semolina. In morocco we put the couscous in a pan. You turn the fire on on very low. You mix your semolina with some olive oil (a little). Then you turn the fire off and add a tiny bit of hot/boiling salted water, in the shape of a snails. You cover the pan and let it sit for 5 mins (even if you forget about it, it’s totally fine). Then you fluff it (we like to use a wooden spoon). And you do that about 4 times. You’ll see when to stop :)
@@Ivygeeee semolina is finer
@@Ivygeeee no that's definitely not how you do it in morocco.
Here in Brazil we hydrate with cold water first, then we steam it in a special pan for that.
And it's based on corn flour
That's the right. Traditional you just wet it with some olive oil the you Steam it wash it the Steam it a second time on a couscousiere
Thank you for sharing. I made it, and it turned out perfectly!
Just did mine like this and it came out perfect. Fluffy and delicious 👍🏻 Thanks!!

I am from Algeria, the land of couscous , and i love couscous
Morocco is the land of couscous...
Your basically the same ethnicity and culture so you would
Morocco and Algeria is NOT the same.
@@Ben-gq3mw Yes, it's annoying...
@@alaeasli1520 Genetically, they are the same.
We , north african, use what we call "couscoussier" to cook couscous
You must try it , i am sure you ll like it :)
If you add all of your ingredients to your Water/Broth first then heat until boiling and then add the Couscous, you'll have maximized all the flavors. Couscous actually doesn't need to be cooked, but if you're using Meat Stock you should boil the Stock anyway. I make Couscous with Salsa all the time 1/2 cup Couscous and 1/2 cup of Salsa juice and water, then toss in the Salsa Veggies and mix every few minutes, no need to cook.
I wondered why they were added at the end, not during
Yum looks delicious i am making this soon will make this with few subs drooling over my samsung galaxy j4 love your recipes making me hungry Thanks Ramya

Very good recipe. Thank you ! :D
What liquid did you use?
i like your confidence
Using wooden utensils can prevent leaving scratch marks on coated pans and pots.
Thanks for the simple great recipe it turned out so good!!!😋
Please items used for the couscous recipe
I would like to add a suggestion. She recommends leaving the couscous to rest for 5 to 10 minutes. I would recommend checking it at 5 min and if the water has been fully absorbed, fluff it. I one waits for 10 min the couscous gets a little sticky.
Your Couscous looks really delicious!
Giggity
@@henny6566 🤣🤣🤣🤣 cheers!
I didn't know that couscous was that popular in france it is because of the immigrants that brought it there.
I'm algerian north African Mediterranean berber and couscous and tagine is our traditional dishes.
Thank.you for sharing your recipe , I'd like to share from experience , it's best to use a stainless steel pan for cooking , I come from a time when pans didn't have any coating on them that they apply to pans today , growing up in younger years at one time I never saw one because they didn't have the coated pans yet , besides the toxic chemicals that go into coating the pan , it also alters and changes the taste and flavor of the food . Try a stainless steel pan and you will see the difference .
I love saying couscous lol
ok i will try make this for the first time....Im expecting something closer to porridge my first try though
You've got this!!
I learn to make that in Paris and they told me just pore the broth or hot Esther over your couscous with what ever seasoning and let it sit 😏frying would make the rising stop 🤷🏼♀️
Great video 👍
Do you have any recipes for Millet?

Libyan Couscous in Libya... I have Couscous food every friday my mother
Couscous is a Berber/Amazigh dish from Algeria ,Morrocco ,Tunisia and Libya .
For thousends of years our ansestors have been cooking this dish.
OMG as a tunisian this is a NIGHTMARE, WHY ??? This is so hard to watch .
This is the food of our ancestors in NORTH AFRICA and other part of africa too , its not a Mediterranean dish , we cooked it differently but all if us we STEAM the couscous ALWAYS.
No one make couscous like Moroccan
Thanks. Also this is not couscous but semolina. In morocco we put the couscous in a pan. You turn the fire on on very low. You mix your semolina with some olive oil (a little). What do i do if its like soup?
Let it cook for longer!
@@TheMediterraneanDish how much longer I did a hour? didn't change
So one cup of water and one cup of couscous? I was told 2 cups of water and 1 and a half cups of couscous and add butter, spices herbs while cooking, now i have a sloppy mess :(
you should«ve opened the video with " couscous, the food so nice they named it twice"... from seth rogen's movie, pineapple express.
How can you scratch your Teflon pan with a iron fork like that? By heart is crying....
Take a shot everytime she says couscous
They served this in prek best lunch ever
as an algerian i can confirm thats the absolute wrong way to cook something even near to couscous sorry
3:43, Why do always people use the wrong tools? Using a fork in a Teflon pan! 😬
I was thinking exactly that! Wooden spoon is a must!
Thank youuu 🥺🥺🥺 .. I should watch this before I ended up have a couscous portion 🤣🤣🤡🤡🤡 ommmggg

My couscous looks like mashed spud
Too much water.
Please, do not use metal utensils on non stick pots or pans....Bad example!
Hey mommy I’m from Morocco that’s not the way we cook couscous the couscous came from moracain so even u cook it with morocan way or leave it alone never seen couscous like this 😇😇😇
Is this a joke?? She is not allowed to make couscous because it’s not the way your momma made it? Should I really believe there is only one way in all of Morocco to make couscous? This is a joke…sheesh
I don't believe that she cookes in that kitchen, apart from doing the videos.
It’s TOO CLEAN it looks like a movie set lol
I mean it’s probably a set
What does that matter.
😂😂😂 looks like so
Just looking to see if there is a better recipe than the cous-cous I ate today 😨
Can i not just make it with plain water?
Sure you can!
Couscous is absolutely not meditereanean but rather Moroccan/North-African!!
Mediterranean cuisine, while diverse, broadly encompasses Morocco and North African countries. It is not limited to Greek and Italian cuisine
how much hash did this girl smoke before filming this
What you did is Not Couscous, dear !!😂
And what makes you think that my dear? 😂
So nordine, what was that ? We are still waiting for your answer mossieur le grand extraordinaire fantastic chef.
@@TheMediterraneanDish It's okay but the oil has to be less: one tablespoon for each person is enough 👌
I hate when they say "I will put a little bit of parsley" but then they put like.. 1kg of green stuff. that is not a little bit!!! :)
Lol, I do love my parsley! A little bit to me may be a lot to you - I always say follow the rules lightly in recipes and do what you like! 👍
Cumin at the end?
I'm thinking you could have said couscous 500 more times just a thought
Go to Morocco 🇲🇦 if u want a real couscous
The whole point of this channel and our website is to celebrate the Mediterranean flavors in a way that makes it accessible to the entire world. There is no need to “go to Morocco” to enjoy “real couscous”. Anyone can enjoy it no matter where they live
@@TheMediterraneanDish First of all couscous is North-African and not Mediterranean at all. That's a big difference! If you dont want any critics stop naming it couscous then.
North African countries are on the Mediterranean, making couscous Mediterranean
I usually microwave couscous better than rice and non fattening
Bruh. As a North African I can tell you that is 100% NOT how to make coucous sheesh
Thumbs up
My hearts hurts, it's not a couscous,
