The Illusion of Control is actually a really relatable one. When I'm playing co-op games with the boys I'll sometimes accidentally think I'm controlling my friend's avatar, and not realize that until they point it out.
I have the feeling sometimes when I watch people playing games on youtube. Like if I think hard enough it will change the outcome.

Drivers are going to eventually not going to slow down, knowing that it is a decal, but one day, when there is an actual little kid on the road, they are going to speed right over them.

Someone might try to swerve off the road if they think they are going too fast to stop before they hit what they previously couldn't see (because it had jumped into existence from a smear of color), thus hitting people on the sidewalk, stationary objects that could harm the vehicle's occupant, and so on.

It ends up being a lose lose situation.

Well if you look at the graph of the stockprice. You will see it moves, and the stock traders thought that they could move the graph up and maybe make profit. So it does make sense why he put it in the video :)
The type of camouflage you showed is used in the car industry today. Whenever a manufacturer has developed a new model they will paint their prototype with such a pattern so that it is impossible to determine (and steal) the shape using images.
