when Mrs. Whittaker explains to Luke and Laura the reason the want the big wedding was because "we love you" was so sweet and made me a bit weepy. It so exemplifies how we all, the audience, felt about them then and now and most likely forever.
Mrs. Whitaker has some crazy eyes! I love how you can mix up a group of characters like this - one of the wealthiest members of the community, a diner owner (Rose), a farm marm, Elm Street, a licensed physician, a street-wise cabby, etc., etc., and it all works! It allows the fictional community of Port Charles to be portrayed as a small, friendly town. Really nice casting and story writing.
@@tyrarenae3486 Mayor Collins was just talking about Port Charles being this great community on the show today. I bet that is a rare opinion of the town on the show today.
They had so many fantastic character actors in supporting roles back then. The formula on current day GH is so off.... they try to make everyone a lead and it is truly a detriment to the story telling IMHO.
I agree... she really needed to have an amazing combination of strength and compassion to "toss it in" (as he would say) with Luke Spencer! Laura is a FANTASTIC character!
sis I know I been making my comments, but there is one comment I have yet to make and that is I APPRECIATE YOU. My daughter died a few months ago and these Posts help to make me smile again.
Back 3 years later, and not too long after just getting through Suss's 95-96 playlist, and just getting into Goku5's 96-99 Spencer vs Cassadine saga. But, what made me chuckle, is watching Laura slug luke, and just about 2 weeks ago I was watching Laura slug Damien Smith. She did not lose any strength in that 15 years! LOL!
THIS IS THE REAL GENERAL HOSPITAL,,, NOT WHAT THERE SHOVELING OUT TODAY 3/18,,, REAL PEOPLE, OF ALL WORKS OF LIFE,,, LOVED IT HERE,, IT,S REAL,, TO ME,,,,
Jesus!!!!! People!!!!!! Mind their business no mind their DAMN business!!!!! It is a wedding between Laura and Luke. I am glad I am not engage, if I ever was all the world will not pressure me and my betrothal into having a wedding their way.
They did not owe anyone any wedding big or otherwise. Frankly Robert is there if Luke is going to act like that and accuse her of lying who needs him? You can marry Robert!
Not if Laura gets to Robert first. I agree, I think it's terrible that Luke accused her of lying to him and betraying him and with no evidence. I love Luke but I wouldn't marry a man who had so little trust in me. Also, he never took any responsibility for what happened when they came back to Port Charles after the Left handed boy. He promised Laura he'd stand by her and hold her hands. He failed and then blamed her for freaking out...🙃
LUKE! You CAN trust her! I know what happened to the divorce papers! And I would love to tell you but I can't because we got new people here who have never seen these scenes so I can't spoil it for them. Lila: They owe us a big wedding. I'm sorry Lila why do they owe you a big wedding? :) Man this is so annoying. the vote is so dumb.
I am so very sorry for your loss Cynthia. My father died way too early and tragically and this stuff got me through that ... I thought it might help other folks as well so decided to post it all to share. I am glad you are able to find some respite here.
I don't know what it is about this fight, whether it's the dialogue which seems hokey or the fact that I don't believe Luke wouldn't trust Laura at this point but whatever it is it makes their acting not as good. They are great actors but even they can't make this ridiculous fight believable!🤔🙃
This is where we started seeing the new tougher side of Laura. She knew how to stand her ground., with Luke and everyone else. What day did this episode air originally?
Love how Mrs Whitaker talks to them, and all is well w L&L!!!!!!!
For now.

Betsy Keller I love this description, Betsy. Very apt.
I wish my town was like Port Charles!

Excellent point.
WOW Laura has always been one strong women when it came to Luke even when she was this young. That is what made them WORK!
Loving every moment of Mrs. Whitaker...."WE LOVE YOU!" 52 jamaica

" Give me your hands children." LOL I just love Mrs. Whitaker!
Mrs. Whitaker was the only one who could of talked Luke & Laura out of a disaster

She was right!!! I would have slapped the fire outta him too!!

I just noticed that 312 is the number in the 1979/80 playlist where the kitchen confrontation took place after their return home.
We truly appreciate your efforts susse!

Just wanted to let you know I am having a hard time getting these posted.
Looks like Emma really is high class now.
Luke can be a jerk accusing her of lying is shameful. DIsgusting.
@sussezq I agree, love her!
Ms. Whitaker imo Luke should of been the only one who had to apologize.
Love Mrs. Whitaker, but she looks like she's possessed when she talks!
This comment had me laughing out loud😀😀😀
I like to think of it as an intensity. Agnes Whittaker is a very intense lady, but extremely sweet.
Emma..'' They can't do that to us'' [ about L&L's wedding] I am afraid that you have NO say, Emma! LOL

Tell them Slick, Luke & Laura can't do know eloping
They're talking about the wedding but did I miss where Luke actually proposes?
He proposed back before they left on the ice princess caper. When he was still living upstairs of her.

Hey, the slumber party idea sounds like fun, but I'm pretty sure Sus's hubby wouldn't agree LOL

It's called sexual frustration
@@NoneofYourbusiness-ey3js True!
Sure!
Even though I ff all Slick scenes I don't miss any of the plot lol.
Tristan and Genie played spouses on Y and R.
Ex spouses. Cane was their son.
@@2006bbbb1 Yes but their characters had been previously married whatever anyway. Just mentioning they had acted later on together on another show.
He wouldn't care!
Yeah.. sorry I just couldnd't make it work!

Actually this clip is from two different days. Friday October 23, 1981 and October 26, 1981.
