    ....I don't think NASA's budget has ever reached 50 billion, has it? - I think it's more like 22 or 23 billion per year. I'd also say that the most important innovation of Spacex isn't the rapid turnaround, but the ability to reuse the rocket over and over again - a tremendous savings of time and money.

    NASA's achievements were due to Wernher von Braun. He was NASA's Elon Musk. When you don't have a great leader it doesn't matter how many great engineers you've got.

      Ridiculous. von Braun himself conceded that Germany's rocket program was based on the work of Robbert H. Goddard, the AMERICAN. von Braun said: "His rockets ... may have been rather crude by present-day standards, but they blazed the trail and incorporated many features used in our most modern rockets and space vehicles." Authoritative sources also write; "While the V-2 was a significant advancement in rocket design and technology, it drew on the foundational principles established by Goddard and other early rocketry pioneers." BTW, NASA's list of accomplishments includes a MUCH broader scope of innovations than just engine development and controlled flight.

    Cant wait. I sense a lot of convergence happening in political thought around the West. Elon's political journey seems very similar to mine. One thought to help with the series, which Elon has been speaking about is the age of abundance. This is the end of scarcity (which dictated a host of economic strategies/motivations). If individual survival becomes disconnected with individual effort then we have a fundamental change in motivations. While the carrots may still be there, the sticks lose their bite. Anyway could say more, but those are my thoughts for now. Keep up the great work!

    • @jobhakdi
      @jobhakdi  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you for your thoughts I will use that! The age of abundance is a great theme to build on. I am less bullish on it, for the simple reason that we effectively already have an age of abundance now - but social competition will always blind us to the fact. What we need is a civilization that produces continuous frictionless progress by aligning all systems to that goal - and focus on the human at the center (as opposed to inhumane machines). More coming ….

  • @theLeftHandedDog
    @theLeftHandedDog 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I agreed with your opening remarks, but I don't share any of your political views as you express them here. Humanity's problems are plentiful, but there are many ways in which we're making great strides in many fields. Overall, we live much longer, have dramatically better lives than our ancestors, and are continually improving our circumstances - eradicating diseases and quickly snuffing out viruses. As far as Spacex; I'd point out that Elon hardly started from scratch; I believe both the use of grid fins and hot-staging were Russian innovations, (I hate saying anything positive about the Russians) and the N-1 had 30 engines - nearly the same as Starship's booster, at 33. Computers in the '60's were laughably primitive compared with what Spacex has now - Korelev had nothing. NASA's problems are frustrating, but I don't think it's necessarily the task of a government entity to come up with a nation's scientific advancements - no matter the field. The purpose of government is to make sure there is competition and freedom to innovate. Should I list all the multi-billion dollar American companies the US has created in just the last 10, 20, or 30 years? Musk had a broader, more far-sighted idea of the role rocketry could play in advancing humanity; why do we have to denigrate NASA's work generally, in comparison, to puff up his achievements? NASA has accomplished a lot that we should all be proud of.

      It’s all about holding ourselves to higher standards. There is a lot we are not doing and where we waste our time and resources. Once we have a clear vision of the target state we want, not getting there becomes much more painful - that’s why I am critical of NASA etc. there is no time to be wasted

    I disagree when you say that people with diabetes, obesity etc. are suffering from problems that are not their fault. It is their fault, there are no victims here. Their crime is ignorance and believing what the leaders in their lives, including their parents, told them. A new civilisation has to be made from leaders, every person has to be capable of becomming a leader in their society, otherwise you just have a civilisation of people who think they are victims and who don't know how to solve problems.
    You absolutely do not, only live once :D Reincarnation is very real, indeed you have lived infinite lives. A cursory look at past life memory research, or past life regression information, of near death experiences, remote viewing, MindSight (seeing without eyes)... demonstrates very clearly that consciousness is not emergent from the brain / body, but happily exists in separation to the body. And identity / ego seems to be passed on, and connects lives. This gets back to what I was saying above, that people are ignorant and it's hard for me to say whether they are more ignorant about the material reality that is presented to us, or the spiritual reality that is largely not. But it's not a competition, people are very ignorant of both and you can't create leaders who don't understand reality, who are spoonfed lies and who end up believing them... that only creates a public of mind controlled slaves, which is exactly what we have and why our soceities are in rapid decline.

      @@ro2778 you are right that people should be responsible - but the level of corruption and destruction of US food supply chains and medical care is outrageous. You can’t allow greedy people to absolutely poison the food supply and then blame individuals on the health effects on them. Hope you’re wrong that can’t fix USA. I’m counting on Trump, Vivek, Elon, RFK, Jr., Tulsi, and others to fix the Fed Government, thereby creating a budget surplus, while growing the economy to reduce the debt to GDP ratio. 😀

    • @jobhakdi
      @jobhakdi  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I will make a video hopefully before the election about that. In the large scheme of things, I think they can’t. They can postpone decline - potentially in a game-deciding way - but they can’t fix the deep, underlying challenges because those need reinvention, not just fixing. We need a target-state-design to fundamentally update key areas of civilization, the same way the founding fathers had to do it. I think RFK, Elon can fix certain pieces of the government that are very bad and dangerous - I call this defense - and that will be very important. They can make sure we are not bleeding money like crazy, they can decrease corruption, they can reduce the massive government - aided health destruction, and they can prevent wars . But they cannot fix education, birth rates, cities and culture imo. When I put my pioneer hat on, I might even argue Kamala vs Trump makes no great difference: Kamala would just create a more dramatic showdown, whereas Trump allows a civilizational “soft landing”. But the takeoff requires something new that works in sync with / on top of a reformed US government.
