The actress that plays Carly on General Hospital (I'm sorry I forget her real name). She was on Guiding Light the last few years it was on. She played Riva Shane Lewis's half sister. I'm getting old, I forget that character's name too. I can see pictures of it in my memory clear as a bell, just can't remember the names. Growing old sucks... But I'll never forget Riva's fountain dance, circa 1978, or 1977...? I had the same camisole and tap pants undergarments. Kim Zimmer played Riva. @Cecil Pierre Hi! From your lips to God's ears! There are already a few oldies TV stations. I don't see why an antenna TV station can't play reruns of all of the soap operas ever made, from the beginnings, in syndication. Ok Guiding Light is the only one that cannot play from the very beginning. Unless they have the old radio scripts; they can get new actors to film the the origins of the soap, then go to the first televised shows. My mother-in-law used to listen to GL on the radio, and when they first transfered to television, she said the sets were like for a play, when they opened the door the whole wall wobbled like it might fall over. Everything took place in Bert Bauer's kitchen. The other choice of continuing those soap's story lines right where they left off, and making new stories with the same characters, and new actors where needed. That would be awesome as well. Even better, do both! One of the complaints I heard from my coworkers that were “G. I. Brides” from foreign countries, they didn't think they could just start watching U. S. soaps; because the story had already started, and they didn't know the story lines or characters. I tried to explain you just start watching, then start asking everyone you know if they watch that soap too, and can they catch you up on what's going on. I told them I started watching GL in January 1976, like 30 or 40 years into the story (some gasped), and my mother-in-law caught me up back around 1986, from day one on the radio. Then things really made sense. Either idea would make me so happy! I miss my soaps!!! I watched CBS, & ABC soaps. VCRs made that so much easier, tape one, watch one. Got my hopes up. For some strange reason I absolutely loveeeeee Ava now. She's worked so hard to become a better person. I think the people of General City could help her reach that goal if only they would give her the second chance she truly deserve. None of them have any honest fingers to point at her anyway ijs
Ava and Trina are my favorite platonic pairing on this show. Ava's love for Trina is 100% genuine and that's her saving grace for me. I love it. I need more with them & Portia.
