@@zirkvandenberg7776 Isner had great feel and hands at the net. Those things aren't mutually exclusive. Kyrgios has one of the highest hold percentage and one of the lowest break percentage. Don't be fooled by a few highlight worthy points, look at his career stats, he's a servebot.
It’s sad that Nick was struggling with his wrist pain throughout this and his Aust open is in doubt but from these highlights it doesn’t appear that he held back or has hampered much. Giovanni is impresssive to watch and is an absolute monster with his power sometimes but he also has variety to his game. Nick’s experience, feel and tennis IQ was on display here, his hands were unbelievably quick to get that low shot when they were both at the net and GMP tried to bury it at Nicks feet…. I wish I’d seen this match but I really want Nick to go out on a high, one or two big tournaments at least.

Quite a close call. One would have expected Perricard to demolish Kyrgios since he hasn't played for a long time, Kyrgios needs to get back in form, talk less & show the world he can get a GS
GMP looks like he has improved his ground strokes. Looked more confortable during the rallies. He can be top 7 with a questionable Ben Shelton's return ability.
Nick played exceptionally well.. considering he's been off the tour for around 18 months.. Very close match.. I think he did well against a tough 1st round opponent..
Nick can quite clearly still compete at a high level as long as his wrist injury doesnt recurr. Like him or not to play like this against a guy whos in the top 30 and just had his best year ever on tour is impressive considering he hasn't played in over a year and a half. A bit more match sharpness and an increase in fitness levels (he looked a bit slower than usual out there today) and he can return to near his old levels I think.
Pericard will be a GS contender in a few years... I'm surprised anyone still learns one handed backhand. But if done well it's by far the prettiest shot in tennis.
Nick's tennistic level was surprisingly good for a player who hasn't played on the tour for one and a half year.

I'm not a fan of Kygrios at all but this match shows the raw talent he has that he was able to play that well after so many months.
